  January 22, 2013 - Dinner for Rebecca and Malcolm (Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand): Stunning Napa wine of great complexity. Textbook cedar and smoke with absolutely gorgeous plum and currant aromas. Perfect balance of power and subtlety. Layer upon layer of refined fruit. Drinking at maturity but I imagine in a cold cellar this will last another decade and possibly continue to improve. Underneath the beauty of the fruit lurks a firm tannic backbone that only added to the complexity and greatness of the wine. 96
