  February 25, 2013 - I was very, very skeptical of this bottle as the cork was leaving much to desire in terms of structural integrity, though, thankfully (!), it turned out fine. Fine may be an understatement- it was excellent! The tannins are very round and sweet and the fruit notes are lovely, with a lot of cooked black fruits, cedar, sweet earth and wet, sweet pipe tobacco. Totally enjoyable, totally lovely and I totally wish I had more. If nothing else, these oldies are so fun to drink because alcohol levels are reasonable, meaning that splitting a bottle with someone doesn't leave you looking for the cab number...
