March 3, 2013 - Popped and poured. Much fresher and better structured than a '04 last week. Nose is a little shy, but shows some plum, spice, kirsch, and iron. Palate is finely focused, with still prominent but fine tannin in the background. Dark fruit, loads of meat and iron, herbs de Provence, along with a sandalwood note really round this out until a moderately long mineral finish. This is just beginning to open up, but is delicious CdP with fresh fruit but loaded with the spice and secondary nuance that the less fruit focused style allows. Drink now with a decant or give 2-3 more years and enjoy. 92-93
