April 22, 2013 - Popped and slow ox'd for about 2 hours. Inky purple color. Really nice nose of blueberry pie, black pepper, a bit of bbq meat and some purple floral notes. Similar flavors on the palate with ripe blueberry jam and sweet spice flavors coming through along with a touch of dark chocolate on the back end. Perfect balance of acidity and tannins with a smooth mouthfeel and a long, seamless finish. You can tell that this wine was well made. Wish I had another bottle to check back on in a couple of years but this is drinking great right now with a little air.
