May 31, 2013 - Charming and elegant. I dont agree to the other authors which mention that this is a monster not ready to be consumed and enjoyed yet.
Of course it has more body and structure than a Chaupin and its a bit young with astringent aftertaste. But I think it can fully be enjoyed already now (preferably with food whereas I often enjoy the Chaupin with good company instead).
In addition I was not able to find any sharpness in this bottle, as opposed to the VV 2009. I am not sure whether this or the Chaupin is my favourite wine. I would recommend wine lovers being new to Janasse to taste both before making any buying decisions purely on tasting notes written here. I am happy to have both in my cellars.
On the other hand I dont favor the regular CdP of this winery.
After drinking this wine I was able to order 6 more of this for a thrilling 99 € / bottle. I dont think the VV and the Chaupin of 2009 and 2010 will decrease in price over next years.1 person found this helpful 8,048 views

5/31/13, 5:58 AM - Indeed brilliant wine, bought magnums of this at the domaine last year. Heading there tomorrow to taste the 11's (140 for a magn VV 11, I believe it was 150 for the magnum VV 10 last year). I'm curious...
