  November 23, 2013 - Mixed results at this stage. Very interesting nose--violets, herbs, slightly feral, open even with minimal decanting. Heavily oaked palate attacks with tart pomegranate and blackberry, dense texture. Kind of an odd flavor progression as the acidity doesn't translate to the midpalate through the finish. Suddenly becomes earthy with a heavy dose of wood tannin. Hold for 5 years, though I am concerned about whether the wine has the stuffing to eventually balance the oak.
