December 8, 2014 - Exuberant expression from Châteauneuf, The 2010 Pegau Réservée is under serious aromatic evolution. When it's finally there, must achieve something around perfection, if there is such thing. Rich, highly concentrated dark violet red. At first contact, the purest and deepest bouquet of dry flowers emerge. Raspberries, cherries, violets and cocoa notes over a profound woodlike base, along with olives, minerals and leather. It's all here, animal scents and distinct herbal tones, such as basil. Though this is still very unstable and quite muted, the richness and purity of palate is undeniable. The gentlest touch of espresso, cocoa and discreet spices, sustained by a lively and robust structure, projects greatness and potential. Long and serene on the buttery, spicy finish. With a sealed fate, this CDP is a reward for the patient ones . 96-98
