December 28, 2014 - Reddish-brown body with bricking; brownish rim; a little cloudy. Black cherry, blackberry, tar, black pepper, leather, sous bois, floral scents, minerals. Good structure and acid. Tannins not completely resolved. Although it seems to still be in the beginning of its drinking plateau, it appears to have a few years left before its apogee. A long peppery finish. A great pairing with Italian meat sauce and pasta. A better food wine at this point.
