Community Tasting Note

April 8, 2016 - Clear, light garnet red with slight brick rim. However, there's nothing aged about the nose, it attacks with high toned fresh red fruit, a little sous-bois, a touch spiciness, some floral note. In the mouth, this is fluid, light bodied, but nowhere rustic. Instead, there is good concentration and grippy to velvety tannins. Very good, nearly mineral finish. Amazing how this developed over the past years and how the fruit is suddenly coming out again. I'd say it's still not at it's peak. Elegant. Very good indeed.

4/8/16, 4:26 PM - Very encouraging (the last bottle we had, over a year ago, wasn't). We'll open one tonight!

4/9/16, 10:10 AM - L-C, we did open a bottle last night. I had planned to decant it for an hour, but I was tied up with dinner prep so asked my husband to take care of that job, and he opened the wrong bottle. So we each had a glass--which matched your note perfectly--and we recorked the rest to taste tonight or tomorrow. Will be interested to see if it improved, regressed, or stayed the same.

4/10/16, 11:52 AM - The second half of the bottle was splendid. Taut but not lean like the day before, and it seemed to have put on weight overnight and acquired some fungal characteristics too. As you said, not at all 'aged' in character, and lots of upside potential left to go.
