  April 5, 2008 - Decanted for 8 hours as well as the MD shake. Wine is a black/blue color in the glass with a beautiful nose of dark licorice and blueberry. This wine was much more controlled than the boxer...and yet had the same full palate complexity. I really loved this wine.The long decant time blew the heat off of the palate...and very, very little was present in the nose. Paired with grilled flank steak.
  My only problem is that it is priced exactly where it fits in the line up.....better than the Boxer...not as good as the COL. Unfortunately, $50 is a little high for this wine. In my opinion, this should be the boxer! I don't think MD should continue this "middle" lineup of wine.
