Deep ruby, transparent. Immediately pronounced nose of sweet cherry lozenge, which fades to a more sour cherry with wild Mediterranean herbs, graphite, potpourri with air. Quite closed on the nose, reticent. Bright acid, chalky tannins, quite lean and mineral on the palate with crunchy red pomegranate and cranberry fruit and a hint of black coffee on the back palate. Has a cold feel, with a sense of purity. Extremely well balanced, elegant. Will not drink another bottle until 2029.

Flintyness and struck match is pleasantly present.
There's also oak present, strong but not overpowering.

There's a slight hint on barnyard funk on the nose, very very slight.

Refreshing citrus lemon acidity.

The finish is long!
Body med+

Bang for buck chard

Very elegant and almost fully mature. To me, this is one of the stars of St Joseph. 2014 might not be the best year, but this wine certainly delivers a typical nose of raw meat, smoke and rose petals. On the pallets, it is medium bodied. Nice and clean finish.

Again, in a nice spot to drink, that is... Bouquet of spice, roses, with a tad of rusticity on the palate. This could potentially still improve with more cellar time.

Very nice burgundy-style Chardonnay from the south of Germany. Some toasted brioche and walnut notes, yellow fruit. Depth, minerality and a long finish. Really enjoyed this.

Decent little Sauternes with a big château - this is fully mature but will keep. But I suggest drinking it now as 1999 won’t deliver much more pleasure

The wine looks straw colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like honeydew and grapefruit. The body is light. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Amazing QPR. Drinking well now & exactly what you would expect of a really well made Burgundian white. Over delivers for the price. Served at about 10c naturally got fuller and rounder over the next hour of drinking. Would show best with food rather than just as a wine for the terrace.
Nothing less than you would anticipate from Verget

Focused on the fruit and for relatively early drinking. A deep, multifaceted wine. Will especially attract those wine lovers who write things like "Drink up!" for even very young wines ;-)

A nice surprise for a recent auction purchase. No vintage label in the bottle so it wasn’t until the capsule came off that I found out it was a 99 thanks to the vintage being stamped on the cork.
Wasn’t expecting too much but there’s still decent fruit and depth to this wine with some tertiary notes in the mix
Good showing but best to drink up in the not too distant future as this isn’t going to go anywhere but downhill from here.

It was a disappointed btl for such a great vintage. The colour was light gold, nose was subtle, lean structure. I wonder if this btl was badly kept.

I openned and left in btl for 3 hrs to serve and this time it blossomed a good perfume nose, brownish color, smooth palate. Liu guessed it was an old Barolo as it was very close to such character.

Nicely developed nose, with plum, integrated oak.
Dry tannins, medium+ acidity, some cassis, plum, coffee, but lacks a bit of fruit, most likely passed its peak.

A very powerful wine still! I openned 4 hrs in btl to serve and found tight in structure and tongue catching, but leaving in decanter for half an hr later, it shone as a top BDX. Dark brown cloudy, noble nose of old BDX, mouthful feeling, long after taste. A perfect conclusion wine among other 86 vintages red for her.
