Meh. Leathery smoky nose which was interesting, but a very one dimensional palate of coffee and some black fruit. Weakest wine of the evening 87-88

Very pure, concentrated, precise and highly mineral with a packed blue fruit core that relaxes over time with air in the glass to turn highly seductive. Hinting at a great potential with 5-10 years more in the cellar. 512 bottles made and we shared a few bottles which were all super consistent.

Nose is somewhat funky, intense black plums, rustic barnyard, old spices with tar. Palate is elegant and fresh. Good density and length on the medium-bodied palate. Finish is rounded and deep. Drink now.

Very ripe and juicy on the nose. More of a jammy style but still with good balance and acidity. Wild strawberry patch with intense floral notes of peony and violets.

High toned nose. Palate a little simple, mostly black fruit with some remaining oak notes. Drinks like any nondescript decent New World Cab nothing to see here IMHO…

A stronger showing for me here vs two years ago. Coming off the straight Vosne village which is more easy going the paler Clos Chateau has a marked more savoury edge to it but still remains ultra charming and sweet. Lovely today.

Grippy tannins, fresher and more dense than 2019 currently. Very palate with darker fruits coming through. Good power, elegant and not brooding feel though.

My first time trying this well known producer. Fungal, slightly medicinal nose. Spicy, earthy, dead leaves, black tea, medium finish of blackberry. There are better aged Bordeaux blends out there but it was interesting to try. 93

This was a very nice Calistoga cab - ripe fruit but everything else in balance, and the fruit hadn't been hung too long but retained real skin tannin and true cab character. Reminded me of Montelena from 20 years ago. Good wine!

Super relaxed, nothing forced, similar to prior notes. Just a vosne village you want to keep drinking the next sip of. Delicious.

My expectations for a kabinett were not met with this wine. It was reminiscent of one of those “blue bottle” sweet, sweet, sweet rieslings. Crisp acidity was absent.

Either this bottle was a little off or the ‘12 Pontets are closing up. Earthy, woody nose. Foursquare palate of wood and blackberry. A bit thin. If I tasted this blind I would have guessed a decent Medoc and not Pauillac let alone Pontet Canet. 89

This was the only wine I purchased at a "movable Malbec tasting festival" in Buenos Aires, after tasting probably over 20 Malbecs (out of over 100 on offer). The reason is, ironically, that is was the "least Malbec" of them all! As the sommelier of the winery explained, and the tasting bore his out, it had light floral notes, almost approach a Burgundy in characteristics compared to a typical Malbec (and indeed it was!), which he attributed entirely to the particular soil characteristics of the vineyard. Aging in cement tanks (no oak). 13.5% alcohol is also a little lower than a typical Malbec from Mendoza.

This was decent, but I prefer my CdPs a bit fresher, and this was a bit tired by the end of the glass. Candy cane nose. Dark chocolate and soft fruit. Medium finish. 90

This was “correct” but a bit foursquare compared to decent CdPs. Purple grape and black cherry. Nose better than the palate which was shortish and clipped. 88-89

Tasted at The Winery NYC with Arthur and Ron. Not much to add to some prior notes other than some vegetal notes on the attack, adding some interest rather than detracting. These notes didn’t follow through in the mouth, though; masked by the wonderful fruit. Well done!

I initially didn’t think much of this, but the wine opened very well and got much better by the last sip. Smoky, nutty nose. Gamey butter palate. Some fruit left on the medium finish, though not much, and this needed the accompanying cheese plate to really bring the flavors out. Drink now if you don’t like your whites to lose freshness 91-92

Served En Magnum. Smoky nose, flint, lime. Long apricot, peach, lime finish. Still young. I’m not usually a fan of off dry as find this style neither here nor there but this was really good. 93

Fresh with plenty of acid. Almost smokey nose when first opened that dissipated within 15 minutes. After breathing, mouth/nose combined for that salty popcorn experience with extra minerality. One of the best white burgundies we've had in a while. Bring this to the [good] friend who "hates" California chardonnay. Drinking great now, but probably continues to evolve another 5-10 years.

This is almost certainly a riesling. Got a little bit of lime and cotton candy, but it is a dry riesling. I have no idea why they labeled it a Chardonnay. Yum

Light yellow colout with a golden hue and fine mousse. Nose is generous, fruity, with notes of peaches, white flowers and some honey and quince. Mouthfeel is dry, generous, fresh and fruity, with great acidity, fine fizz, nice acidity and notes of yellow apples, peaches, apricots, with a long and dry finish.

This is a dry, fresh and excellent sparkler from 100 % chenin blanc from Montlouis. Love it!

Alluring nose. Sweet fruit, floral. Complex. Blackcurrant jam and spice. Toffee. 6.5
Full bodied. Dry. Moderate acidity. Restrained fruit. Slightly astringent. Furry tannin at the tip of the tongue. Good structure. Warm finish. Spicy. It would probably be better with a few more years age to allow the tannin to soften. Try again in 2 years? Will the fruit characters fade or develop? 7.7

N: dark cherry, tobacco

P: more red/black fruit, weak structure, maybe should have decanted longer, but this fell apart on the palate for us.

Very pleasant on the nose though

Good intensity of black fruits and sweet oak, smooth tannins, decent length, good nose but lack complexity on the palate. Well balanced between fruit and oak intensity and acidity. Overall a simple, easy drinking table wine, easy to pair with food. Drink now.

Lovely stuff

Nose: dark cherries, raspberry, spice, cocoa powder and a touch of white pepper

Palate: give it couple hours to air. Great acidic balance. Quite opulent and mouth filling. Black cherries, red fruits, touch of vanilla and cocoa again, earthy and herby/savoury backbone.

Need some more.

This is somewhat closed down at the moment, but good stuff to be unfolded in some years time from now. Then higher score for sure.

Disappointing. Was expecting a richer more complex wine but, while smooth enough, this one was really too "neutral" and could really have been any generic medium-bodies lightly-oaked wine. Not worth the price and would not buy more.
