A quietly understated nose of dark raspberries, red berries and plums, with prominent supporting notes of pine needles, forest floor and freshly tilled soil. The palate is harmonious, with juicy red fruit, abundant fresh acidity and softly resolved tannins. Slightly austere, particularly around the finish, but not without charm and length.

A touch reductive and needed some air to open up but absolutely delightful and will still improve for several more years.

Totally agree with everyone who believes this is "beautifully declining" at its current age. The flavors are GREAT at the moment (especially the palate).

Red plums, roasted wild game, olive tapanade and a hint of mustiness on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. Smells quite nice; though a tad old (which it is!). The palate is much more lively, showing flavors of ripe black cherries, ripe red plums, orange peel, green tobacco and smokey bacon. Absolute explosion of flavors - with a high intensity thereof. Finishes with blood and iron, and lasts around 45 seconds.

Structurally, it feels pretty old. Medium body with medium acid and low, almost no tannin. Guessing this peaked about 4 years ago - where it would probably rate a 95 or 96. Drink now and enjoy the beautiful flavors if you happen to have any.

Decanted for 1 1/2 hours, served in a Riedel Old World Syrah Glass. Opaque ruby colour.

Nose: Dark cherries, bramble and hints of elder berry come through towards the beginning. Dried savoury herbs, notes of meat, earth and coffee appear afterwards. On the way out, aromas of shaved dark chocolate and menthol make themselves known.

Palate: Cherry, cranberry and red currant on the palate, slowly morphing into notes of savoury herbs, dark chocolate and cured meat. Powerful tannins and fresh acidity. Dark cherry, savoury herbs, earthy notes and dark chocolate on the finish.

This wine has aged gracefully, and has definitely benefited greatly from more than a decade in the cellar. The tannins are soft and mellow, there is still some nice red and black fruit, with a smooth and well-balanced finish. This is probably around its peak, but should still have a few good years left.

Lovely pale golden color with a tiny green hue. Amazingly small bubbles enthusiastically generated. Lemon curd, slate, lychee, and lilac on the nose. Ooops: a modicum of yeastiness, as well. A pronounced lemony (fruit and rind) minerality emerges on tongue with an interplay in which a subtle bitterness prevails over just a dram of sweetness.
This Cava is well structured and enjoyable, even if I continue to be a Champagne snob!

Medim to full bodied, IMO not yet in its prime. At the time being rather simple and a bit disappointing. I have 12 more bottles so I will see how it develops but I am not overoptimistic.

Good dusty nose with mature red and dark fruits. Palate presents woody (not oaky) notes, slightly smoke, mature dark fruits with high density, spices and licorice altogether in a opulent mix. Animal notes also with some flint minerality. Therefore quite complex. Long lenght. Really well made with personality.

Extra brut, zero dosage, 100% Chardonnay

Shortbread cookies, butter, lemon juice, orange juice, jasmine and passion fruit on the nose. Smells pretty fresh for being 6 years old, with a medium + intensity of aromas. On the palate, however, it's starting to show some age. Flavors of ash, sesame seeds, buttered toast and hazelnuts all mix with some of the same citrus from the nose. Overall a nice mix of primary and tertiary. Finishes with the nuts, which adds an almost oxidative quality.

Structually feels quite young too. Bone dry, with medium body with medium + acid. Drinking pretty well now; but may get more interesting with 3-5 more years in the bottle. If you prefer more tertiary Champagne, you could age this.

It would be a nice wine, with a good nose and
body, except for an intrusive metallic off-flavour. Bought six bottles, after a successful tasting, but the purchased ones are not like the tasted one.

Pinot Noir from a vineyard called Largillier, from a clay-limestone soil, on the Côte des Bar in the municipality of Ville-sur-Arce. It comes from two plots, Fruit and Fleur, which are vinified separately and from a single vintage, 2017. Aging of about 36 months in a bottle with its lees. Dosage: 6 g/L. Floral, ripe white fruit, brioche, mineral, refreshing, subtle, creamy, wide, elegant and persistent. 10000 bottles. Nice!

Light gold, as expected no sediment. White currant on the nose with a distant minty aroma a very faint scent of lino perhaps from the oak, worth some deep sniffs. Light to medium bodied with a silky mouth feel. A very pleasant minerality, tastes and feels like it sat on the lees the right amount of time. Has a medium to long finish, not too acid, well balanced. Looking forward to trying it again tomorrow.

Nose from heaven. Could live in that glass.
Tannins fully resolved. Just a juicy silk bomb.
Decanted briefly but not needed (perfect on PnP).
Raspberry, plum, tobacco, leather.
Just so bright, youthful, and entrancing.

Excellent showing with blue and red fruit, earth, rock, Dome herbs sind pepper.
Acidic backbone fits greatly.
Unfortunately the last bottle of the that vintage from my cellar....
Will remain on that level for another 5-7 years....

See Burgfest notes of Neal Martin and Jasper. All accurate. But still needing a lot of air. Decanted and left for an hour. But still needed two more hours to really shine. Then it had a beautiful nose of lemon and linen. And real weight which the acidity cuts through beautifully into a glorious finish.

Deep ruby, flattening out a little, but still drinking well.
Another couple of years good drinking.

Sour red berries, quaffable pretty typical Loire CF. Not particularly dirty or funky, at all, very clean. Compared to the '15 of the same cuvée I found this more crisp and quaffable, as opposed to the '15 which felt more "luxurious top end cuvée" in style but for that matter not better at all, I prefer the '17 now.

Marvellous! Red berries, dark plumen, soft. Fruity, power in years to come. Next bottle 2026. Strong curtains. This is a young wine. Decanter, keep it in room-temperature for at least two hours!

Lots of experiences ahead!

Popped and poured, enjoyed with friends over the course of an hour or so. The 2021 “Zenith” pours a light ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing and holy whole-cluster Batman! Notes of funky strawberry, raspberry, pomegranate, and forest floor. On the palate the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes form the nose. The finish is medium+ and certainly has some Burgundian sensibilities. Wow, I really dig this and love the soft mitts that Vincent and his team are using. Lovely, compelling stuff and a producer to keep an eye on. Drink now and through 2036+.

Tart apple on the palate, a lovely rich texture with great supporting acidity. Really nice intensity and length.

This one thoroughly delicious, with candied orange peel, mint, liquorice and berry. A very firm structure, a tannic dryness covering all this flavour matched by some cut-throat acidity. What an exciting expression of Nebbiolo. These 2013s have been all over the place - some totally oxidised, some really good - but this one is superb.

Much more crisp than I was expecting and much lighter on the oak than expected - this is a positive! Notes of Asian Pear, tropical notes, lots of citrus, and a hint of honeyed oak.

2nd time having this, pop and drink at the Morris

Transparent bright ruby
On the nose is again just heaven… intense longan fruits and dates, roses, licorice
On the palate is more distant/ closed tbh this time
Really good acidity and wet stones
Slightly more firm tannins than I can remember from last time
Med+ finish

Probably would benefit from decanting & not rushed - e.g. have another bottle to enjoy at the same time and wait lol

Look forward to revisit maybe in a few years if Morris still has it!!

Auge: Klares, tiefes rubinrot mit deutlichen Purpurtönen

Nase: Sauber. Intensive Aromen von Cassis, Brombeere, Himbeeere, marmeladig, Schokolade, Vanille. Erste Reifenoten

Gaumen: Trocken, hohe Säure, mittleres, feines Tannin, hoher Alkohol 14%, voller, cremiger Körper mit mittleren Aromen von marmeladig, Brombeere, Eucalyptus. Langer Abgang

From the Sicilia DOC, this 100% Nero d'Avola fermented in stainless steel tank with 10 days of skin contact. Aged 4 months in stainless steel tank prior to bottling. Clean, fresh, and intense—blackberry, black tea, licorice, violets, and damp autumn leaves. Firm tannins are present but balanced—would be an excellent pairing with grilled Italian sausage or veggie skewers. Mmm...spaghetti alla puttanesca would do nicely as well. If you like masculine wines, just a glass and a good book or movie works as well—preferably with a strong, muscular lead. Sip for sip—for the price, this wine is my hero!

Brilliant linear acidity is the most apparent, starts with sour cherry, raspberry, nuts and oxidized mushroom notes. No bubbles. Drank at 17C, Gabriel glas gold was the kindest, the Zalto burg stem did nothing helpful. With 30 min of air walnut skin notes emerge. The wine overpowers a range of cheese, Cabeales, San simon, manchego. Better on its own. At 45 minutes, VA emerged and dominated
