Drinking great. Good combination of red fruit with some smoky, cigar box tertiary characteristics. Soft, silky tannins.

Pale to mid straw. Distinctive nose blending oats, yeast and tarragon. A sense of richness. Mid weight, with a fullish texture and some mineral grip. Clean and fresh, no discernible fruit. Mid length. Really quite interesting. ***

This was smooth. The fruit is subsiding. I would say it is time to start drinking up. In fairness, we drank 10 bottles of wine among 13 of us before we got to this wine, so admittedly, my memory is a bit hazy. That, and all of the other wines were from the 1990s, so it was a bit out of place. That said, what I do remember is a smooth, beautiful wine, that is entering its final 10 years of life. But don't hold me to it :)

Well drank another one of these, and unlike the previous it was very good. Golden colored but not super oxidized like the last one.

Same case same storage, and it seems like the bottles freely vary from fantastic to sink dumpers. Such is Huet.

Lovely nose of deep red fruit with cassis and spice, yet quite slender. On the palate, very typical of the right bank - lots of fruit, subtle but noticeable tannin. Overall, very good harmony and medium body - enjoyable.

Retains colour; lifted bouquet, ‘natural’ tendency; slender, snappy fruit; shrill finish. Fading. Needs drinking up.

Light golden color. Medium + intensity nose with aromas of citrus, white flowers, musk, pears and a clean minerality. Palate is great, dry, with notes of citrus, canned peaches, wet stones and sea spray, it has a focused clear direction, great medium+ acid level, light almost weightless midpalate and a very long sharp finish.

Really intriguing wine in the way it presents differently depending on how much air it gets. On opening, the flavors are a bit more intense and was my preference by a slim margin over more air. Everything is heightened at this stage, flavor and aroma are beautifully floral.
But then after a few hours of air it develops this elegant and delicate essence. Stunning light red cherry color and light to medium body. Great on its' own and with food. And great now or give it years.
Roy said this wasn't a typical Russian River style of Pinot, my preference, but I buy anything Roy will sell me and am so glad I did.

Elsker beaujolais! Lett, frisk rød frukt og en flott syre, sure bær som går over i en lett sødme. Mangler litt i forhold til de beste beaujolaisene, men uansett, veldig godt!

Buttered toast, slightly caramel nose, not much fruit left to the palate here, this is all secondary. Reminds me of the Cuvee Louis but not as far gone as recent releases have been. Has a nice contrast between the rich, oxidative flavors and the bone dry palate sensation with no sucrosity whatsoever. The acid is a bit out of balance on the finish at present, and the CO2 pressure is a bit strong. I like this, but found the 2004 l'Aerienne drunk a few weeks ago more distinctive, and preferred it. That's the one I want to go long on. Although I do think this one needs additional post-disgorgement rest.
The CO2 has settled down a bit on day 2 and this is quite impressive. Nonetheless it is still not as expressive as the 2004 l'Aerienne at this point in time, and I would be inclined to give it 1-2 years rest before opening.

Powerful, full bodied, chalky tannins, high acidity, long finish. Aromas of dark fruit (cherry) and rose, tar. On the palate more red fruit (cherry, red plum). Not much strawberry and rose as you may expect. I would give it another 3-4 years to mature. More like a La Morra Barolo than traditional Barbaresco. Drinking window 2026-36+.

Definitely has a lot more oxidation out there than the one I opened in 2019. There's just a 2019 seashell which was also opened, this one has much more attenuation of that limestone grit, more yellow peach, more of the opulence that you find with Hudson fruit. Is a wine with 8 years of age on it, I would expect this one to start to turn more to the opulent side, and it definitely has not disappointed. A little bit of brown butter, a tiny hint of butterscotch which I think is only going to get more present over the next 3 to 5 years. I'd say if you have these, it is time to drink them. But if you want to hold them, just know that they are going to get more oxidized as it goes, which for me is really not a bad thing at all!!

Howell Mt is my fave. But this continues to come up short (my 4th of a six pack). It lacks the body and mouthfeel that you get with a rich Howell cab. Profile is closer to a typical $35 Napa cab.

From the Sicilia DOC, this 100% Nero d'Avola fermented in stainless steel tank with 10 days of skin contact. Aged 4 months in stainless steel tank prior to bottling. Clean, fresh, and intense—blackberry, black tea, licorice, violets, and damp autumn leaves. Firm tannins are present but balanced—would be an excellent pairing with grilled Italian sausage or veggie skewers. Mmm...spaghetti alla puttanesca would do nicely as well. If you like masculine wines, just a glass and a good book or movie works as well—preferably with a strong, muscular lead. Sip for sip—for the price, this wine is my hero!

Decanted for 2-3h. Definitely wow! Huge perfumy nose of violets and vanilla. The palate has intense cherries, baking spices, tannins, tar, and a touch of acidity in the finish too. Compared with the '08, this '10 is rounder, gentler, and more accessible. 94/95

This organically grown Xinomavro aged 12 months in large, used Hungarian oak barrels. Black currant, fresh plum, sun-dried tomatoes, Kalamata olive, and a soft hint of Chinese five spice. Powdery tannins maintain a sexy grip, keeping the fruitiness in line. There’s something “small production” in the honesty, depth, and complexity of this wine—just what I love to taste. Pair with mushroom risotto or aged hard cheese like parmesan or gouda. The low 12.5% ABV make it a great mid-week or afternoon lunch wine!

Enjoyed this. Lots of flavour of red fruit, Victoria plum, some spiciness. Medium body with a little bit of grip with a nice balance.

First time tasting these late released gems from Tarlant, this one is 70% chardonnay and 30% pinot noir fermented in barrel. Malolactic was "not provoked", whatever that means. Disgorged March 26, 2018 -- 12 years on the lees -- and no dosage added.
This shows a golden hue suggesting its age, but I found the nose and palate rather youthful, with only moderately developed richness. It reminds me very much of the multivintage Cuvee Louis, but with less intensely oxidative caramel/butterscotch than I've found in recent releases of that wine. Still very high pressure. I liked this very much and find the contrast between 2004 freshness and acidity and the slightly exotic character of the fruit quite attractive.
It's surprisingly unevolved on day 2. I suspect this could be a 30 year wine, at least, and wish I had a lot of it.

A quietly understated nose of dark raspberries, red berries and plums, with prominent supporting notes of pine needles, forest floor and freshly tilled soil. The palate is harmonious, with juicy red fruit, abundant fresh acidity and softly resolved tannins. Slightly austere, particularly around the finish, but not without charm and length. With Cote de Bouef, sweet potato fries and asparagus.

Totally agree with everyone who believes this is "beautifully declining" at its current age. The flavors are GREAT at the moment (especially the palate).

Red plums, roasted wild game, olive tapanade and a hint of mustiness on the nose. Medium + intensity of aromas. Smells quite nice; though a tad old (which it is!). The palate is much more lively, showing flavors of ripe black cherries, ripe red plums, orange peel, green tobacco and smokey bacon. Absolute explosion of flavors - with a high intensity thereof. Finishes with blood and iron, and lasts around 45 seconds.

Structurally, it feels pretty old. Medium body with medium acid and low, almost no tannin. Guessing this peaked about 4 years ago - where it would probably rate a 95 or 96. Drink now and enjoy the beautiful flavors if you happen to have any.

Decanted for 1 1/2 hours, served in a Riedel Old World Syrah Glass. Opaque ruby colour.

Nose: Dark cherries, bramble and hints of elder berry come through towards the beginning. Dried savoury herbs, notes of meat, earth and coffee appear afterwards. On the way out, aromas of shaved dark chocolate and menthol make themselves known.

Palate: Cherry, cranberry and red currant on the palate, slowly morphing into notes of savoury herbs, dark chocolate and cured meat. Powerful tannins and fresh acidity. Dark cherry, savoury herbs, earthy notes and dark chocolate on the finish.

This wine has aged gracefully, and has definitely benefited greatly from more than a decade in the cellar. The tannins are soft and mellow, there is still some nice red and black fruit, with a smooth and well-balanced finish. This is probably around its peak, but should still have a few good years left.

Lovely pale golden color with a tiny green hue. Amazingly small bubbles enthusiastically generated. Lemon curd, slate, lychee, and lilac on the nose. Ooops: a modicum of yeastiness, as well. A pronounced lemony (fruit and rind) minerality emerges on tongue with an interplay in which a subtle bitterness prevails over just a dram of sweetness.
This Cava is well structured and enjoyable, even if I continue to be a Champagne snob!

Good dusty nose with mature red and dark fruits. Palate presents woody (not oaky) notes, slightly smoke, mature dark fruits with high density, spices and licorice altogether in a opulent mix. Animal notes also with some flint minerality. Therefore quite complex. Long lenght. Really well made with personality.

Extra brut, zero dosage, 100% Chardonnay

Shortbread cookies, butter, lemon juice, orange juice, jasmine and passion fruit on the nose. Smells pretty fresh for being 6 years old, with a medium + intensity of aromas. On the palate, however, it's starting to show some age. Flavors of ash, sesame seeds, buttered toast and hazelnuts all mix with some of the same citrus from the nose. Overall a nice mix of primary and tertiary. Finishes with the nuts, which adds an almost oxidative quality.

Structually feels quite young too. Bone dry, with medium body with medium + acid. Drinking pretty well now; but may get more interesting with 3-5 more years in the bottle. If you prefer more tertiary Champagne, you could age this.
