My first 100% pinot blanc champagne. There's no information on the bottle except "Brut", and none on the producer website except that malolactic fermentation is completed.

The wine benefits from a little air and not being too cold. The colour is a pale straw yellow; the nose has white flowers (camomile?) and herbal notes and a crisp edge. The palate follows and has quite some complexity, particularly as the wine warms. There's citrus tending towards sweet grapefruit, a creamy note, herbs (fennel?), but also some saline minerality. The overall mouthfeel is quite rich and rounded; I'm guessing a dosage of maybe 8-10g/l, but it avoids being cloying.

Overall this is a rather interesting wine. Rather different from other champagnes, and more akin to good still pinot blancs that I have tried. When quite cold it works as an aperitif; a little warmer with some seafood.

At the ~US$35 that I paid this is an interesting bottle and will be an occasional repeat buy for me, although I wish there were more information available regarding the wine.

Grande annata, per me la migliore.
Grande profondità grazie alle note terziarie che rendono naso e bocca appagate.
Intensissimo frutto al naso, ingentilito dalle note di resina e caffè.
In bocca è ricco, voluminoso, ma equilibrato.

Mott’s apple juice nose, fine bubbles, palate was nicely balanced betw fruit and well judged acidity; but that unripe green in the back note telltale sign of mediocre bunches not sorted out. a bottle off of wine list, drank half glass and shared the rest with the FH in case they might find more pleasure in it— not all are sensitive to the unripe element. People were happy to glug it so I’m sure it’s fine. Just reinforced my view Paul Bara wines are quite pedestrian.

강렬한 검붉은 과실향. 익은 과일 풍미 속에 풍성하고 신선한 과실향이 함께 올라오는 것이 인상적이다. 예상보다 검은 과실미도 상당하다. 입안에선 우선 치고 올라오는 산도가 도드라지지만 결코 '신맛'나는 가메는 아니다. 오히려 실키한 균형감이 과실미를 돋보이게 해준다. 여러모로 파워풀하고 진한 가메이지만 섬세함을 읽은 묵직함은 아니다. 다만 하루 지니고 다시 시음했을 때 너무 빨리 균형이 무너지는 모습이 좀 당황스러웠다. 남아 있는 플루리도 시음해보고 판단해 보련다.

This wine is already in a bottle bingo state. The last two I opened in 20 and 22 were past peak and not enjoyable. This bottle was the phoenix from the ashes.
It still had primary notes, which were well integrated with the aging notes. Everything not overly complex, but really enjoyable.

Drank in a restaurant, as you would expect given the producer, this was first rate. Everything was well balanced, and with a perfect Chablis crispness.

내츄럴특유의 쿰쿰함은 거의 느껴지지 않음. 레드베리류의 밝은향과 삼나무, 카시스, 오크통의 조화가 매우좋다. 그리고 매우 팔렛에서 부드럽다. 약간 타닌은 조이는편.

Rubis clair, brillant, très jolie teinte délicate tirant sur la framboise.
Nez net, assez élégant, sur la cerise, un rien confite, un rien amarena qui m'évoque tout de suite l'italie (mais pas forcément la Silcile!), épices douces, un rien floral.
Bouche a l'attaque svelte, assez fine, qui resserre ensuite, sur la jeunesse, sur la tension. Le vin hésite entre finesse et puissance, il oscille.
Finale un peu herbacée (ronce, végétale), qq amers (de jeunesse), une minéralité singulière (qui resserre les papilles), tout cela qui ne demande qu'à s'harmoniser dans la promesse de finesse.

This is my first of 6 bottles, grabbed this from Garagiste at $17 USD.
This is just what I was looking for...tart citrus, salinity, focused, cleansing on the palate, with great acidity.
I will lean toward great QPR wines like this, as my adoration for Chablis has been hampered by consistently rising prices over the past 15+ years.
Drink this lovely Albarino over the next few years to retain freshness and cut.

After having tried this one, I come to the conclusion that it must be impossible to produce a dry and pleasant primitivo in current climate conditions.

Very interesting/unusual wine. Browning robe due to some skin contact the producer was doing selectively between 2010-2019 we are told. Light body. Smooth profile. Nice balance. Dark floating sediment in glass. Better tasting than it looks.

2008 Château Clauzet St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
13% alcohol. CS 55%, M 40%, CF and PV 5%. Longish cork, but the texture is pretty loose. Decanted 90 mn ahead. Deep colour with no sign of ageing.
The nose has great harmony with fruity aromas mixed with tobacco leaf and a faint hint of vanilla. The mouth is half a step behind at this stage, as it is quite tight, but it shows vivid fruit and superb acidity before the unresolved tannins kick in.
Pretty good as it is for those who can tolerate a good bit of structure, but will undoubtedly harmonise in the next 5 to 10 years.
It is an awful pity that this chateau has now been subsumed into Lillyan-Ladouys, as I always felt that Clauzet was the more authentically St Estèphe on the two properties.

PNP - Paired wonderfully with venison steaks and blueberry sauce. Blue fruits and slightly gamey on the nose (the wine, not the dish) took a little bit to coax out of the glass. An hour decant would've been the move here. Palate was fuller, fruitier and more approachable than the Bonnivieres. Not much complexity yet but a pleasurable drink now with potential. Will be interesting to see how these two develop over the next 5+years.

PHILLY CT GATHERING-DR CRANE NIGHT
I haven’t had many single varietal Petit Verdot, but I have to imagine this is one of the best representations coming from Napa. It certainly held its own against the cab savs poured last evening.
Deep garnet in color with baked plums on the nose. Rich red and black fruits, more plums, black cherries and red currants. Finishes with plush tannins, cedar box and black pepper with a streak of scorched earth.
A very unique and satisfying bottle of wine. Thanks to the cyclist for bringing this along

Dinner with David Sinegal. Double decant. Left in the btl, no cork for 3 hours. Served with Waygu beef, simply delicious. Smooth. No hurry to drink as this was their first vintage.

Cigar andtea on nose

Juicy acidity of dark berries, feels more like a riserva than crianza, tannins softened by time and oak

Good. Rich and creamy and still young.

Grapefruit, vague mango/banana, nutty notes from toasted oak, mineral, creamy? A bit of a bite at the end and just a touch of sweetness. Finish a bit short. Rich.

That's what I love about German wine. You can take a liter bottle of Riesling from a not so well known winery, lay it down for a couple of years, and enjoy!

12.5% ABV. Kerner from Fujisawa Vineyard in Nobori, Yoichi. Fermented wild with no skin contact in 2 small qvevris, then 1 is transferred to concrete tank and another aged in the same qvevri for 18 months. Bottled in August 2022.

PNP into Grassl Liberte glass (“Flower” day): Medium lemon golden to the eyes.

Aromatic juicy stone fruits like apricots, citrus fruits like lemon balm, minty spices.

Quite the volume on the palate with high acidity, umami, mellowly textured. White spices on the finish.
