Nose is better than palate right now; nose is classic with mint, forest floor, tar, tobacco, dried cherry and roses; palate remains pretty structured and while drinkable with food it seems like the tannins could integrate further.

Love the 2020 vintage from Walla Walla. Very expressive and representative of this great year. Why I love Cabs from Walla Walla.

Quite tasty and drinking well now; ripe plums, a hint of cassis, black cherry, violets. Well balanced with good depth and a lovely elegance. Good now and will develop well.

Super tasty again; some reduction on the nose, but it blends in perfectly with ripe citrus and orchard flavors, floral notes and some crushed stone. Lovely stuff.

First impression.

Refined and processed to the point of completely lacking character -possibly to remove smoke taint from the 2020 fires.
It exhibits overripe cassis, a dusting of mocha, and a somewhat flabby structure until a wisp of leather arrives on the otherwise ephemeral finish. It is ok in service to a large gathering, but is probably best utilized in sangria which is how I will be employing 4 bottles this weekend.

Quite delicious. Old school vibe with a solid core of dark chocolate. Would have appreciated a touch more acidity to give a bit more lift. Otherwise well balanced. A touch hot on the back end. A chillin wine you can sip on and ponder. Cellar temp is where I prefer it. It gets a little unglued as it warms up. Agree there is a touch of VA which gives added complexity.

Not so good. Last time we ran across this Pinot was the 2010 vintage, and we tried to be diplomatic about what we discovered. This 2022 seems to have mostly the same characteristics, so we are assuming this is their desired style. We did review on day one, just to give Mother Nature a chance to bring some overnight air help. Just barely. It is really very thin. There is violets and crushed raspberries and plum, but not a lot. The color is a gorgeous magenta that light even for a Pinot. Not quite medium bodied. There is some tart cherry skin, black and maraschino cherry. It is really soft and kind of shy. But, the problem to me is just raw acid and tannins that kind of overpower everything. By day 2 the expanding marischino cherry is joined by some tangerine and considerably less influence from the raw stuff.

Significantly better than the last bottle. Seemed less sweet, less candyfloss character, though with the same tinged pinkness.
Terrific.
If I buy more of this, I'm happy.
If it's like the last bottle, I'd be thinking I'm at the county fair grounds with a bad recipe.
The bubbles were similar, the mousse saved integration and balance were all in place.
Yaaay!
Another reason to buy two bottles. They're often different, though I didn't expect this huge gap!

PS Drink The Rainbow!

Fairly tannic with some green notes, but also a good fruit profile--definitely needs time but I liked it all the same (Lisa not so much).

PnP but frank over many hours.

Young, sappy and bright; red fruit with good spice and potent minerality; long and very; excellent and primal. Very very good. In your face

Probably one of the most pure versions of Sangiovese in a Rosso. Consistent with my note from 10/23.

a great combo of verve, sweet, minerality and acidity makes this a lovely drink. even more acidity would make it better. it has a lovely mouthfeel, reminiscent of suede and i quite enjoyed rolling this around my mucous membranes. flavors of flowers and baked apples with a long finish. delicious.

100% Syrah— not much of this made by the winery. Slight bit of brett that blew off. Blackberries, licorice, garrigue; great balance; bit of a tannic finish that was tamed with a pairing of homemade chili. A great value, this gained complexity with air, showing different facets over the course of the evening.

Ripe but fresh with plenty of acidity. Good complexity with plenty going on here. Good finish. I really enjoyed this as did Lisa.

Pretty wine. Light garnet. Cranberries, raspberry, sage and rosemary on the nose's first impression. Medium acid, crisp raspberry and cranberry flavors. Medium body and finish. Worked well with grilled lamb chops.

Leaner than I expected--plenty of acidity and I suspect it will improve with a few more years in bottle.

#1 of 3 bottles. Decanted one hour. Very dark ruby. Aromas of blueberry, orange, vanilla, spices, prunes, dried strawberry. On the palate: replays but dominated by sour cherry. Medium body, high acid, XD, medium tannin, medium alcohol (13.5%). Drinking well now but will last for another 5 - 10 years.

Nose: iodine. Nice raspberry, cranberry scent. Not oaky like some heavier CA Pinot. Smells a bit more lean. Cooler climate. Coastal. Spiced wood. Earth.

Palate: nose comes through. A little more underripe on the fruit. Borders on a bit sour. Decent acidity, almost no trace of tannin.

Good price to quality at 20 bucks.

I was expecting something "over the top" and the fruit was on the dark side for pinot, but this was beautifully balanced with plenty of minerality and some loamy accents. Some violets on the nose as well. 92+

Ditto comments from last year. May be 5e best of the Dehlinger lineup, as it’s more balanced and lower in alcohol.

A shy nose with a little bit of apple, touch of honey and cream. The palate is very dry, well balanced freshness/acidity, tons of apple, salt and a short finish. Not bad for the price, but maybe alcohol comes through a bit too much here.

One of the only dozen or so non-Old World wines in my stash, this makes a pretty competing case for dipping into Napa every couple decades. This is probably at, or very close to, peak. Decanted to start dinner, this is a beautiful Napa cab.

Brought by WGDM to tonight's dinner......decanted for about 2 hours and enjoyed over 2-3 more during dinner with teriyaki skirt steak. Drinks much more reduced with no juicy glycerin noted. Feels like......just Cabernet? Pretty standard at this stage. So different from what I am accustomed to with Outpost. Small amount left under Repour stopper to try tomorrow.....

Decanted for 1-2 hours as we dove into it.....similar to past bottles. What is very intriguing is that it does not degrade at any point through the night over 5-6 hours of air. It's light in the glass, light on its feet and just beautiful cherry, licorice and leather on the palate. What great qpr with this one........
