Quite ready. Some nice savory mushroomy overlay to the age-tamed black cherry fruit. Acidity was correct and there were very fine herbal elements. Perhaps it's peaked and is beginning its descent but really lovely now.

Popped and poured. Pretty good for a second((?) label--good color, fruit and richness. On the young side, but already drinkable. 5-12-16-8: 91/100..

Wow this was so fresh on the nose that it belies its age. In perfect condition and very grateful to be able to sample this legend, given bottle variation.

Decanted one hour. This needs the decant as it’s a pretty powerful Chambolle with still some lingering tannins. Black cherry, tea, herbs and mineral come through. Nicely balanced, good acidity. Mature but nowhere near over the hill. Still edgy and in need of softening a little. No rush to drink this.

Decanted 90 min. Lovely entry level Barolo. Red cherry, earth and tar come through on the nose. The palate is medium to full bodied, but shows that wonderful Roagna balance, acidity. This doesn’t have the depth of the single vineyard cuvees but if you like the Roagna style is a reasonably priced entry point.

What a winner we got here. 2010 excellent across the board chez Dujac and this sticks to that plot nicely. Immediately open and possibly hitting peak drinking window though I’m sure another decade under the belt is of little issue. Some ripe strawberries that fleshes out into blood orange, wilted roses and potpourri, lots of earthy charm and bursting full of spices and white pepper at the back. This begets sip after sip, and poof, you are left wanting more of this beautiful juice.

Very young with high acid and modest aromas, but beautiful balance and length. Best ever vintage and great qpr at 20 USD in Denmark.
The remaining bottles will now rest 3-5 years.

Elegant and somewhat subtle Pinot, probably drinking at its peak just now.
Light purply-red with bricking the edges. Savory and perfumed nose with ripe strawberry and violet notes. Flavours are quite complex, again more savoury than fruit; the fruit drops off through the mid-palate. Technically speaking, a beautifully executed wine, just a little shy on character.

Dark garnet red with orangey rim. Blackcurrant, dark cherry, raspberry, stewed strawberry, dark plum, menthol, dried herbs, spices, cedar, incense, sweaty saddle, crispy bacon, and honey. Full-bodied, medium-high acidity, medium-high silky tannin, medium structure, medium-high alcohol and long nectar finish. Bold, complex, edgy and well-balanced. Residual sugar on the finishing palate.

In prime drinking window at time of writing. Probably only a few more years to go before downhill.

I was so excited to drink this, and it wasn't for me. Painfully intense . Almost overbearing. Definitely so for a Burgundy. So much fruit, and a strong, distracting citrus quality on both the nose and palate. Disappointing.

Nose smelled very tertiary. Get red fruits on the nose as well am some spice The nose is strong an I gave this bottle four hours of air. Lil bit of vanilla in the background. U can smell the oak influence. Very soft on the palate. Especially to be so young. It’s dense but not heavy. You don’t get any type of watered down feeling yet it’s gentle. Tannins are soft yet semi mouth drying. Acidity is mouth watering an kicks in perfectly. Finish isn’t as long as I would like but it’s long enough. Great wine.

Similar notes as last time. It was tight and minerally driven the night I opened it. After 24 hours in the fridge, the wine softened and much more pleasant and enjoyable.

This was good, not great. And, I will say not worth the price imo. Medium -full body, dark fruit, stones, gc earth, licorice . Decent complexity, but maybe hints of green from time to time. A good wine, but very pricey for what you're getting. Two bottles drank almost exactly the same 1.5-2 years apart.

Fruit jumps at u with a slight note of vanilla on the nose. Palate says red fruits over dark fruits. Super approachable. Kind of harmonious an in a good place to be consumed. Nothing over done at the moment. Gave it 4 hours of air in the bottle with some space for the wine to touch the air. Lasting finish. Not a spectacular wine but I have no complaints. Of course it could be better but everything could be better. In a good drinking window after some time to breathe. Drink up friends.

Excellent classic Cascina Francia. Fuller bodied, smooth with classic CF characters. Tar, roses , cherries, tobacco, licorice. Awesome. Can drink now or hold a long time. I didn't decant, but opened an hour before and drank slow as was the 3rd wine of Thanksgiving dinner. Not as massive as the 06 but closer in style than 04 or 05.

Dark fruits then red fruits on the nose but primarily dark mountain fruit smells typical of cali mountain cabs. Dark purple hue with no signs of aging occurring. Also smell some vanilla Taste kind of jumps at you. Semi get dark fruit flavors that simmer down into approachable but bold fruit flavors of dark an red fruits. Tannins aren’t very aggressive but take center stage over the acidity. This wine taste better Than I thought it would. Not as big as I might have assumed. Pretty approachable now an can age an become more harmonious an tender on the palate. Drink if u like , just give it some air an time first. I let this sit in the bottle for about 3-4 hours with minimal air

This is an incredibly delicious Syrah... so mellow and smooth, with the delicious peppery notes that I love in a Syrah. This is a great wine, and I can't believe the price point. I will definitely be buying more.

Very interesting wine, unusual and quite hard to evaluate. A sauvignon-based sticky, in a short/wide bottle that you’d more commonly expect to find gin in. Pale straw gold, ginger and cinnamon on the nose. Subtle ginger on the palate too, with dominant guava and lychee. Long finish, sweet but not a lot of complexity at the end.

Wow. This wine will live forever. I will not open another bottle for years. Thankfully opened xmas eve during the day with a bunch of people. Tannins literally tore my mouth apart. Decanted it and started drinking other wines. Poured the wine around midnight and it was phenomenal. Hugely structured, full bodied and chewy. The decant softened the tannins to the point of being smooth and silky. Flavors were classic CF . Tar , roses, cherry , licorice. Amazing.

Beautiful, red cherry and floral aromatics; the palate is elegant, ethereal, almost too delicate and fragile, with well-integrated acidity. Lovely, red fruit seasoned with salt, a hint of citrus, a bit of iodine, dark minerality and a hit of warm spices on the finish. This was from a magnum (thanks to Gianpaolo Paterlini at Acquerello for intervening and offering this wine to me when I had ordered a glass of the '17 Produttori Barbaresco. This was vastly superior).

A bit cliched but this wine truly is somewhere between Marlborough and Sancerre, but ultimately a wine with its own very lovely style. Just a hint of cat’s pee and greenery on the nose, whilst on the palate lemongrass and even a touch of coriander. Now mature but should be fine for a year or two.

Incredible. Idk how many vintages of Ornellaia I have had in my life but I can truly say I have never been less than thrilled to drink a bottle. While Solaia and Sassicaia can often seem more impressive, I find Ornellaia to be the most consistent and maybe the most delicious. The 06 is classic with it's flavors of plum, cherry, tar , and noble earthiness. The 06 is among my favorite vintages, including the 1998 and 1993. This was the first bottle opened at Easter dinner, and was the best bottle of the day. Also, sadly the last 06 of my collection. They all were equally impressive/enjoyable.

This was a more classically austere Barolo: good acidity, nice floral aromatics, but the fruit is very understated and the wine seems like it was filtered through the soils of the vineyard; very earthy and mineral forward. Tannins at this point, while still a touch drying, are pretty approachable.

The one pro review I could find of this was completely different than how I found the wine. This Chambolle was incredibly structured and in need of more time. I did not decant it. It was the second bottle opened at a get together. It was drank between a 2011 Serafin MSD Les Millandes and a 2001 Gaja Sori Tildin. The wine was however very drinkable with an incredibly musty (in an enjoyable way) nose. The fruit was on the darker side, and there was a strong ocean/sea spray character. The wine was interesting and enjoyable. It was my second favorite wotn next to the Serafin. I am a fan of 2013 Burgundy despite the lackluster reviews.

Solid and typical Barbera. Excellent choice for supper.

A nice, juicy, red-fruited Barolo Classico with a touch of chalk and astringency from the tannins. Not the most complex Barolo I've had, but it is a serious wine that does offer some nuance and filigreed detail in its understated, oak-less, flavor profile, while being rather pleasurable despite its youth. Chatting with Francesca Valente, who was pouring, she said the grapes for the Barolo are sourced from Sarmassa and Vignane in Barolo, Codana in Castiglione Falleto, and Boiolo and Rocche dell'Annunziata in La Morra.

If I could buy these bottles at the price I paid for them upon release, I still wouldn't. These wines from Gaja are incredibly over priced and over rated in my opinion. I do like there straight Barbaresco on occasion but I have honestly never been impressed with any of their single vineyard crus. I especially have issues with the era in which they blended the 5% Barbera into the single vineyard bottlings. The 2001 Sori Tildin was soft and velvety in the mouth, but lacked complexity and was lackluster. The Barbera is prevalent and distracting to me and I would imagine other true lovers of Barolo and Barbaresco.
