Everything DBAY says in his excellent review still holds, except for his advice to drink in 2018. I bought this last year from the vineyard. It is now exceptional. There are signs of aging around the rim but the nose is still of fruit and flowers. The acidity gives the wine a freshness that is remarkable for a 26 year old wine.
This is most definitely a wine made with great skill and love.

See my '23 tasting note; a nice wine but the vanilla and wood pushes away some of the freshness and more than I like, still a really nice wine.

A nose of smoky mineral, yellow fruits and spearmint. Great palate shape. Unctuous through the mid and seriously saline at the back end. Balanced and delicious.

Good value orange wine. Sweet fruit flavours of peach, orange, something tropical and vanilla. Rather cidery on the nose. The acidity has softened a bit at this age.

From a low yielding 'classic' Chablis vintage (an increasing rarity perhaps) this probably a middling Vogros. Enjoyment waxed and waned over the two days it was open, but I'd settle for 87. While many premier crus will be long lived I'm not sure this will.

Crusted bottle. Decanted for one hour. Dark ruby colour. Jammy dark fruit, dark cherry, blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, espresso, pastille, herbal notes, spices, black tea, and a hint of mint, with medium-level acidity, ripe, well-integrated tannin, and very good length. Medium-bodied, and tightly wound, with good complexity and great concentration. The alcohol is warming and out of balance, and the wine still is holding back, but it holds promise. Drink or hold. 90(+)

Orange rind, white peach, pineapple and green apples create the nose. There is a touch of salinity that adds to the sweet yellow fruits, honey and green apples in the finish. The wine blends 65% Sauvignon Blanc with 35% Semillon. Drink from 2024-2028.

This is exceptional and unusual juice. Rare mono cépage of Mourvèdre this is well balanced medium body wine with noted cnp qualities of pepper but lighter on its feet. Great drinking with or without food. Never would have pegged this as a corbiere

Quite a strange one here.

Deep gold with an intensely savoury nose. The palate follows through with ripe (almost dried) apricot, and a certain saltiness that reminded me of Envinate's white wines.

It's also fairly grippy and feels like it's had extended skin-contact.

I'm not sure what a 'textbook' carricante is supposed to taste like but I doubt this is it. Still, an interesting wine but wish it were fresher, juicier, and had more dimensions overall.

Perfect cork! Fully matured and perfect condition. Quite shy upon opening and started to open up after 1 hour in the glasses. This wine is about harmony and finness rather than power and structure. Pale ruby colour, still good acidity with taste of sour cherry and strawberry. There is no reason to wait any longer as I believe this wine will start to fall apart soon.

Alive and kickin', even looking like slowly going down the hill. Red fruit galore, with some leather. Very clear bottle, no any funkiness. High, fress acidity and red fruited finish. Very Burgundian vintage this time.

Was really surprised - was expecting more power and extraction. But I have got very elegant wine with impeccable balance. Engaging nose full of ripe forest fruit, also red plums, balanced by spice and earthy, leather notes. Palate still bit shallow, but I reckon it will expand with further maturation. Spicy, earthy finish. I hope this wine will expand in a Burgundian fashion with age, then it will merit much higher score. Really liked that ethereal, finessed style.

classic Cote-Rotie markers are already creeping in, with few hours of air - smoky raspberries, blackberry and blueberry, olives and bacon. Violets and black pepper. Palate has med+ tannings, that are very fine and seamlessly integrated with correct level of acidity.. mineral, peppery finish with tiny hint of green stems/olives. Still very primary but also a pleasure to drink. Very clear bottle, so I do not find funky side as in some previous notes. Well balanced wine, with very good future potential, still bit too young for my taste.

Very beautiful. Dry and crisp (on a note to previous comments it is extra brut and there is hardly any sweetness to it). Lemon, chalk and minerals. A bit of apple, pear and floral notes on the nose. A very good wine.

Wines Before / At / After a Passover Seder (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): Popped and poured, there is so much here, just not yet fully accessible, and not yet fun. Dense and chewy black fruits, meaty and gamy with backward structure. An hour+ of air would have helped. Better from 2028, 92-95 point potential.

Past reviews of this wine have been very conservative, so I was anxious opening this, thinking it might be on the way down. But I found it to be excellent. Very bright and vibrant, full bodied. Much less oxidiced than I had expected. Very discreet, but present bubbles. Judging from previous reviews it might be due to bottle variation or storage, but nothing wrong with this one. I wouldnt hold, though, and I don't expect it to improve.

Medium ruby. Raspberry, chocolate, and a bit of alcohol on the nose. Initial impression is smooth and balanced, the acid is present but not overpowering or tart, the tannins are still noticable but pleasant and leave a lingering dryness. The wine is fruity but subtly so, I wouldn't place this in Napa given the mild fruit, it's restrained and composed in an unexpected way. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

Very nice wine for the price. On day 1 I was unimpressed, as it tasted like a flabby Paso syrah fruit bomb without the concentration. On day 2 it developed some savory and garrigue-like notes, somehow more acid, leading to a more complex and balanced presentation.

Nose of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, same on the palate, big body, tasty, sweet fruit then a bitter taste on the mid palate prevents cloying fruit, medium finish, lovely aftertaste, under $10 so an easy "beat the heat" sipper.

Wines Before / At / After a Passover Seder (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL): This had been opened and decanted 6+ hours in advance, and still clearly needs more time. Ripe black berries, well spiced, with traces of liqueur and preserves. Lots of fruit, spice, energy, and structure in near harmony, but with great potential. I'd give this until at least 2030 to show its full potential.
