This is how a big Cru Barolo should be with "a few years" of aging.
In a perfect window now.
Ultra complex nose, licorice, weed, herbs, dust, earth, salmiak, smoke, roses, tar, spice box, cedar wood, cigar box, tobacco, orange peel, leather, furniture polish, mushrooms, wet forest floor, red cherries and truffles.
Taste of roses, tar, sweet licorice, cherries, truffles and crazy delicious sunripe and sweet raspberries.
Round, velvety and floral, perfectly balanced with no rough edges and incredible length & depth.
This is truly an extraordinary Barolo made the old school way.
Not all the way up to the 2001 that happens to be one of the absolutely best Barolos ever made, but not far behind.
Perfect tonight - will keep for many years and continue to develop and deliver even more pleasure.

Deep ruby, almost purple in color; cassis, graphite and black cherries on the nose; medium plus acidity; high tannins; tastes like blackberry jam, black plum, wet gravel, and a hint of eucalyptus with a long fruity finish. Nellie likes it with food. I love it. Should be great with a steak.

What a wonderfully unique wine. Expressive notes of strawberries, pure berries, florals and a herbaceous quality on the nose. What you’d expect from a natural burg. Colour was super light and a little cloudy. On the palate there was a slightly spritzy/tingly feeling on the tongue. Pure fruit and a lovely bright and wide acidity. The unique blend of Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot, certainly comes through in complexity and a light and bright and fruity wine. you could drink this all day, immensely pleasurable and very well executed.

On opening, tasted pretty great, but after an hour or so, turned to pruny, porty mess. Let her go too long...

Walkaround tasting with producers. Rich throughout, but slightly reductive. Ripe apple with an apple cider hint and touches of stone fruit. Good young.

Trinquée de Meursault - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Walkaround tasting with producers. Large-scaled, fat fruit with plenty of volume, slightly fat textures to start, then brighter on its long-ish finish.

Trinquée de Meursault - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Walkaround tasting with producers. Floral and spice start with ripe orchard fruit and lemon curd with very good energy. Richness makes it fun already now with lots of nuance today, but there are hints of even more complexity to come. Very good.

Pnp at restaurant. Very polished, rich dark fruit but not overripe. Almost a bit lactic on the palate. My wife said it tasted almost like Bdx, and while I don’t necessarily agree, I see where she is coming from

Pale gold in color; star fruit, honeydew, and yellow apple on the nose; medium acidity; tastes like honeysuckle, lemon peel, and butter with a long finish. It's not as buttery as the name suggests, but it's good. Nellie likes it and I do too.

In a great drinking window. Deep red color, with slight bricking. Nose a bit reserved, hints of fruit, wood, earth. With a bit of time, rich and well integrated cab franc flavor with ripe tannin. Great on its own, paired well with a burger steak.

Trinquée de Meursault - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Walkaround tasting with producers. Rich, forward orchard fruit plus nicely floral, all well textured. Easy to enjoy young, while the structure will keep this interesting for a while. None of the reduction from the bottle tasted this morning.

Trinquée de Meursault - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault): Walkaround tasting with producers. Lean style of the varietal more in control than ripeness of 2022, this has a bright, long, tense finish that will benefit from another year or three in bottle.

So I opened one of these with great anticipation knowing James Suckling gave this a 95. It might get there someday, but right now this 2020 is very young and still very wild. Tannins that are still very astringent, dominating and overwhelming the palate. It has a lovely floral nose with hints of cinnamon that belie the assault on your mouth to come. I have about 2/3 of this bottle left to sample again after 2 more days of rest, hoping it comes together and mellows. I can't really give much of a flavor profile until the astringency abates. Medium- light body.

I think with time (2 more years? ) This will improve greatly. It is just a wild teenager now.

transparent with streaks of lime green.
Muted nose: a little bit of PN rag scent, bruised apples, and yeast.
Very nicely structured acidity, gripping.

Not decanted. Bold, with notes of tobacco and chocolate. Impressive for the price point, better than some other Argentinian Malbecs in the $20 range.

A Riesling rocket.
Big fruit - big minerals.
Citrus, stone fruits, smoke and stones.
High and fresh acidity - long and dense finish, touch of pepper.
Too young now for my taste - unreleased, but still very fine and enjoyable tonight.

Some fruit elements but this bottle was a bit too evolved. Great to drink now but normally should be fresher and more compact and less accessible. 97

Nose with lemons, white flowers and slate.
Faint hint of diesel.
Palate with tropical fruits, lemon, lime and apples.
Some honey notes and a fine wave of acidity on the finish.
Medium length, good balance and very pure.
A very good/excellent everyday drinking Riesling.

Color: Light to medium ruby. Nose: Charred wood. Some fruit. A bit subdued. Mouth: Good expressiveness and length. I can taste plums and there is still that charred wood aroma. Fresh. Medium bodied. 14% alc. but well hidden. Not bad, at all.
