Really elegant wine drinking well now with delicious apple and lemon fruit and a lovely complex finish. Quite Burgundian in style but I still preferred the '20 Cuvee Anne for it's better verve and intensity.

Really a superb west coast Chardonnay truly made in a Burgundian style. A year has softened the reduction here and this wine is now delivering on all cylinders with succulent acidity and classy lemon/lime and apple fruit. The finish is complex and tingly not unlike a top village Meursault or Santenay Premier Cru with excellent verve and freshness. Yum.

Opened and poured to accompany lamb.

Dark cherry colour.
Deep dark berry spicy fruit on the nose, no evidence of oak.
The palate is predominantly cherry, fully rope, soft and spicy. Well balanced. Quote long. Good vfm.

Drink now.

Bought by my late wife Liz, who loved ripe Chilean wines. Another good choice of hers.

Coravin. I liked this so much that I opened another bottle within a week. This may be a vintage that I drink young. 93

The rich ripeness of this vintage has settled down some and this now delivers a superb Bojo experience. It oozes fresh red fruits but it's beautifully balanced by crisp acidity ending in an enthusiastic juicy finish. A real hit at the Passover table!

Too much brett in this bottle for me. Perhaps due to the very warm vintage?

Lovely smoky black fruit makes this wine quite alluring along with interesting flavors of warm asphalt and coal dust. Chiseled in style with plenty of acidity yet beautifully layered with a refined, silky texture. The finish perhaps lacks some complexity and power but there are still some crisp tannins and more smoky minerals. Aging so well with plenty left in the tank.

Shows off grenache and power.

Bought a case at auction on the back of David Peppercorn's comments in 2004. "A wine for those who love Medocs for their own sake and are not slaves to labels". Medium body, pleasantly acidic, sufficient fruit remaining, though initial richness disappears perhaps a little too quickly. This might be my go-to wine for 2024. Can't see it getting any better for keeping.

Pop and pour. A little sweet for a Spätlese, but still has enough acidity. Great match with homemade gefilte fish, matzo ball soup, and chicken with olives and prunes. No reason to hold further.

Rather sweet, and has varietal typicity, with its exotic fruit and note of honey linctus. Everything kept sufficiently in check to make it a good table wine, too, although (as with a number of the other wines tonight) I found the acidity a little brisk.

Nice light straw color. Exciting and evocative nose of cat pee, grass, and soil. Then hints of lime and grapefruit peel. On the palate the fruit flavors are very restrained, dominated by minerals and saline. The acid is on the flabby side. The mouthfeel is a bit too oily.
White - Sparkling
Quite delicious. A bit austere upon opening like with a lot of soleras. Takes about 1-1.5hrs for it for the fruit to start showing.

A bracing contrast to the Donnhoff, but intrinsically in balance. Some thyme as well as exotic tropical fruit (hello, 2018), presented in a svelte, tasteful package.

Smacks you in the face with red and black fruit and alcohol. Needs maybe 20 years to simmer down; ok I exaggerate on the 20 years, but it would probably be super cool to drink at that time to see what it has evolved into. That all being said, I can see wine people love SQN though. Hell, I might even get one to just have in the cellar and to pop when I am 60yo.

Pnp and ready to go! Attractive, smooth and velvety. Crowd pleaser. Has enough structure to balance it off but maybe a little too much wood for my liking

Spicy with good penetration to it.

This was just amazing Syrah, kosher or otherwise. Bold spicy fruit, olive brine, very exotic. No Cabernet for sure. Super seductive and aromatic. The last reviewer must have drunk this too early! In my experience, Hagafen Syrahs are their top varietal.

In the lineup, this wine got a bit outshined but it has no doubt been a consistent performer. Not much more to be said. It is an excellent wine.

Not sure what happened here, but blind, this came off with a bit of a candied fruit nose. Not quite Caymus or Myriad, but it was not what I typically see from La Pelle. Bottle variation?

Massive fruit character. Full but delicious.

In the lineup, it was a very good wine, but also overshadowed by others. That being said, this badboy was picking up tons of weight with air and was showing great to the end. Decant with tons of air if opening now. Try again in 5-10 years+

Much better showing than when I last opened a bottle in spring 2023. Soft and weightless, soulful, with smooth buttery citrus and honey, then tarte tatin on the rounded finish. Almost too sweet and flabby, but actually just delightful.

A bit lacking this time around or just showing a bit less alongside the stellar lineup, but it could be that like the Harlan, it just needed more air as this was a PnP or maybe a slow ox of 30-45 minutes. I wonder if the rankings would have been different if each of the respective wines got the right air treatment for the blind.

Very well made wine. Comparing it to say the M7 which for whatever reason I like to compare them two, maybe losing a step to it in the grand scheme of things.

Mostly grenache blanc. Rich and glycerol, full rounded and its way, delicious.

18 hours of decant if I am not mistaken. Tons of fruit, super expressive. Long finish, great balance. Holy shit! In the lineup, it was a complete standout. I was a bit worried since this was wine number one in the blind and I was thinking to myself, wtf, this is wine number one…what is the rest of the tasting going to be like? Super sexy, like seeing a woman with a long slit down the side of her dress. Easy 100 pts.
White
Lemon and crispness to it. Fresh and lovely. Grapefruit and easy does it.

Approaching 100 pts today too. What is going on here? Was I being generous with scores this weekend or were there just so many good wines? Its seems like 2021 is putting out some bangers as the young kids like to say. Easy 99+

I've never been a fan of this vineyard but today this was a pleasant wine with cherry fruit forward and a a medium body. No secondary notes yet but I wouldn't wait around for them.
