Red berries, slightly tart, some dry earth, silky and lean. Lacks some depth, but quite approachable. Decent for this price point.

Deep purpulish-red.
Nose: Cassis, mature black fruit with red fruit undertones. A herbal note and a kind of latex smell.

Palatte:
Fruit character is confirmed on the palatte.

Dry, Med Tanins, Med acidity, Med Body. Overall a balanced wine with a Med(-) finish.

Very light pale straw yellow color in glass.
Aromas of mild citrus scents with floral and grassy notes.
On the palate, quite mild light bodied mouthfeel.
Low in acidity. A bit short on fruit concentration.

Pop and pour and tasted over three days (not continuosly mind you).
Grassl Cru stem.
Nice purple garnet color.
Nose offers a little funk at first with some mushroom, cedar and sour cherry.
Good structure with the dark sour cherry fruit alongside some mushroom and soy notes. Fresh and zesty acidity.
Has some cedar and red clay notes as well.
I think this will improve with some bottle age to let everything mellow out and meld a bit better.

Branded cork without vintage.

Dark red/purple. Aroma of tar, smoke, cherries and a touch of flowers. Delicious flavours of blackberry, oak, cherry liqueur, spice, with a touch of bitter chocolate at the end. Very fine.

Lemon, apple and stone, rich and lively, with plenty of structure. Very good for this level.

For myself, this up there with the 1990 as the best pre millennial Angélus. I love the right bank wines from 1998, and this lives up to expectations, and the only barrier to matching the Cheval Blanc and Trotanoy, is a lightness on the finish. The nose alone merits a perfect rating, and the depth and complexity on the palate are exceptional. Whether age resolves the issues on the finish is to be seen. With a good finish, this would merit another couple of points. 96+

Light garnet red, pure cherry nose that deepned to include plum over a couple of hours. Gentle tannin and acidity, lovely cherry in the mouth, good to go from half bottle, will keep a few years though.

This may be the fruitiest wine we've ever tasted - an absolute parade of citrus, pineapple, banana, kiwi and on and on. Not sweet, but so fruity it almost fools you into thinking it is. Amazing. Drink now.

Honestly I find these wines quite odd. I'm not sure I can totally get behind them. They are unique but always have what I can only describe as an 'interesting' non- traditional profile. Almost a sous-voile, sherry thing going on. It's not an off bottle either because I've had these before. Doesn't strike me as something from Ambonnay either.

Don't get me wrong, it is a good wine for sure. There is good structure. Perhaps a bit too lean for my liking. I don't know, I just don't seem to get it maybe.

Quite structured and brooding, with a sense of the Sonoma terroir too. Not bad value at $55 at Costco (after tax), considering the pretty good quality.

Orange confit, minerals, dry feel, quite layered, hard to place (no Sémillon here). A cheese wine, I think, ends with good acidity. Very nice, but non distinct.

I won't give this a score as it could have just been a bit too early to drink, or slightly corked, but was not happy with this at all. Undrinkable the first night, same on 2nd, let it sit another 2 days and was able to consume. Seemed extremely tart and bitter at first, mellowed a bit on the 4th night. Will let this one sit for a year or two before trying again.

Pale coral pink with a lovely, dry fresh palate of crushed raspberry and redcurrants. Lovely, refreshing style with bags of flavour.

Smells a touch like wet, burnt syrah and grenache. And a bit of freshness on the palate, and also a bit of huskies, and then a bit earthy. If you needed to check the Turkish mark, why not this one?

Not a lot of depth but a ton of fruit. Bright red cherry preserves, modest tannins and round bodied with a medium finish. Great with lasagna.

A wow wine. A lot richer and fuller than 2020 Carlisle Mancini consumed immediately before, but in balance and not at all overdone. Absolutely on par, qualitywise, with Carlisle SVDs, at a lower price. Great QPR. 94-95

Younger vines and second pass. Harvested two weeks separate. Structured, with some gumption to it.

Rather lean, but undoubtedly tasty. Tangy and not especially exotic, making it drinkable in a way one doesn't necessarily expect of Gewurz. Classy wine, popular with everyone around the table.

This really improved in the glass and could've even benefitted from a decant. Once it reached it zenith, it just flowed over the palate like liquid cashmere with beautiful dark cherry and bluish fruit and perfect balance. Just a gorgeous Burgundy with many years of life left but with some air, this is close to peak if you like some fruit left in your Burgundy. Has the stuffing to grow more complex over the next two decades if I can keep my hands off it. 95+

Delicious from the pop. Served after a few Carlisle SV bottlings and, while it didn't exceed them, held its own. Feels very complete and balanced, not at all like a "young vines" second label. (Figures given vines are 20+ yrs old) 92-93

Really elegant wine drinking well now with delicious apple and lemon fruit and a lovely complex finish. Quite Burgundian in style but I still preferred the '20 Cuvee Anne for it's better verve and intensity.

Really a superb west coast Chardonnay truly made in a Burgundian style. A year has softened the reduction here and this wine is now delivering on all cylinders with succulent acidity and classy lemon/lime and apple fruit. The finish is complex and tingly not unlike a top village Meursault or Santenay Premier Cru with excellent verve and freshness. Yum.

Opened and poured to accompany lamb.

Dark cherry colour.
Deep dark berry spicy fruit on the nose, no evidence of oak.
The palate is predominantly cherry, fully rope, soft and spicy. Well balanced. Quote long. Good vfm.

Drink now.

Bought by my late wife Liz, who loved ripe Chilean wines. Another good choice of hers.

The rich ripeness of this vintage has settled down some and this now delivers a superb Bojo experience. It oozes fresh red fruits but it's beautifully balanced by crisp acidity ending in an enthusiastic juicy finish. A real hit at the Passover table!

Lovely smoky black fruit makes this wine quite alluring along with interesting flavors of warm asphalt and coal dust. Chiseled in style with plenty of acidity yet beautifully layered with a refined, silky texture. The finish perhaps lacks some complexity and power but there are still some crisp tannins and more smoky minerals. Aging so well with plenty left in the tank.

Bought a case at auction on the back of David Peppercorn's comments in 2004. "A wine for those who love Medocs for their own sake and are not slaves to labels". Medium body, pleasantly acidic, sufficient fruit remaining, though initial richness disappears perhaps a little too quickly. This might be my go-to wine for 2024. Can't see it getting any better for keeping.

Pop and pour. A little sweet for a Spätlese, but still has enough acidity. Great match with homemade gefilte fish, matzo ball soup, and chicken with olives and prunes. No reason to hold further.
