Very nice Pinot. Great balance of fruit and acidity and a long finish. Strawberry and raspberry flavors, small but good amount of tannin and a nice amount of acidity. Would definitely drink more. From Kosieks

(*This following tasting note refers to another Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru wine produced by the same winery, but with a specified lieu-dit, Chaffots. Adding a new wine has become exceedingly difficult after a recent update of the CellarTracker interface.*)

2010 Charles Noellat Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru Les Chaffots is vibrant, perfumed and detailed. The wine is bottled under a natural cork, in contrast to DIAM-cork enclosure for the generic Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru from the same producer. The developing Morey Pinot Noir is clear and pale ruby in colour without any noticeable sediments. Expressive aromas of blackberry, violet and lilac are followed by sweet wood spices and truffle chocolate.

The mouthfeel is dry and medium-bodied, with a rather high level of lively acidity and a medium level of silky tannin. There are flavours of cranberry, red plum, crushed flowers and sweet spices in a rather long, delineated finish. The alcohol level is 13%. The empty bottle weighs 593 grams.

Well balanced. Tannines are very pleasant. Not a very complex wine but distinct flavors of red cherry, tabacco and clove. Good value for money.

Crisp, clean, good body, bright acidity. Citrus & some stone fruits. Neutral oak. Delicious.

Almond and brioche. The oxidative notes are taking over for my tastes. This has significantly declined in my taste since my prior bottle in 2021. Drink up.

Good, dark fruited, plum, perhaps veers a bit too much to dried/over ripe fruit for my liking, but solid and well made. Questionable value vs say the entry level Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rossos

Again, rather dry! A hint of Turkish Delight on the nose, which became more prominent with air. Citrus fruit dominated the palate, and it became broader and yellower with time, with some saline and savoury aspects and good length. The finish was just too tart, even sharp, for me though: this needs time to show its best.

Pale and steely with a slight floral perfume. Bone dry on the palate, with tart lime and some more exotic fruit; the incisive acidity dominates at this stage, and it wasn't especially lovable.

Decanted 30m. 70 SEM / 30 SB. Paired awesome with a smoked thick cut porkchop.

Grapefruit, lemongrass, minerality, green apple, hay.

Served cold to offset where I think I drank the 2013 too warm the night before. Served with a filet steak. Great pairing as the Pinot noir notes really came out.

Whilst not my favourite dessert wine you can’t argue with the quality.
Beautiful rich dark golden colour, very string nose of honey & marmalade which it certainly delivers for a good length in the mouth with a rich unctous coating. May not suit those who want more delicate with acid present.

Epure, Hong Kong. Very typical of the 2013 vintage with red fruit profile, elevated acidity and great florality. This opens very tannic in a profile not too dissimilar from a Nebbiolo. Balance improves markedly with airing and there is good 1er Cru level of flavour complexity. It is a good drink though it lacks a bit of oomph, truly fluorescent or zingy fruit to make it into my 2013 pantheon e.g. Bize Latricieres or the entire Fourrier line-up. This is at or close to peak but will last 5+ years without problem.

This is like a petit Château in quality.
Impossible to determine if it's Bdx Superieure or StEmilion, as it rather heralds the hallmarks of the very common commune of LaPlaîneJane...
Luckily, the auctions allowed me to strike a bargain with 4 bottles.
However, life's too short to play with ugly rubber ducks.

I interpret this as young and made to be drunk young. However, as the racy acidity is what it is, age MAY have some miracles up its sleeves, I'd rather wait for this to either become undrinkable or delicious.
Drinking it like this? *pft*

Received my six pack and had to try one. Did not disappoint. Nose of green apple, key lime, and straw. Viscous mouthfeel with a modest hint of minerality. Palate is a tart medley of tropical fruits - passion fruit, mango, and more - alongside lemon custard, sour green apple, citrus rind, and cantaloupe. Evolved with air and gradual warming. Paired with a chicken alfredo, which it cut through nicely. 92+

Let bottle breath for 2hrs then sipped and decanted for another hour. Still not completely open. Spice and cedar on the nose. Oak, cedar, vanilla, and some red fruit on a very dry finish. Paired nicely with short-rib ragú and risotto. After dinner, it opened up and the fruit started to become more pronounced.

(90+)*** A very surprising Viognier, crafted in the Burgundian style. Buttery nose of quince, pineapple, and apricot. Floral notes. On the palate, its velvety roundness is almost creamy, opulent, with a beautiful breadth but without heaviness. A harmonious and balanced caress on the palate. For a 2018, it is still lively. What a seducer! (90+)

Opened, poured and let sit about 1/25 hrs. Then: Nose dark reddish fruit. Initial taste is dark reddish fruit; fairly balanced; acidity OK; some grippiness and warmth on the finish. Over the next 45 min, fruit stays pretty much the same/monotone; tannins a bit more noticeable on the finish; warmth on the finish recedes slightly. Approachable/drinkable now, but tannins and alcohol need more time to integrate for a better experience.

Decanted 2+ hours, tiny bit of fine sediment.
Very dark. Black cherries, tobacco, sweet oak and a bit of mocha on the nose. on the palate more sweet black cherries, some licorice and spices, and a good dollop of oak (that is not yet fully integrated).
Superb, medium-long finish. Will benefit from a few more years of age as well as a good decant. Well done for a second wine!!

Had with roast pork tenderloin. A decent pairing, although a bit more pepper/spice in the wine than was probably optimal for this dishas it was prepared.

Consensus was this was a nice wine, good not great. No one rejected it and no one was clamoring to open a second bottle.

Probably more like 91.5, but on a night where the Knicks had a great comeback win, let's give Amare the benefit of the doubt. Not sure how heavily involved in the production of this wine the former NBA star is, but it received a very nice reception at our seder last night. Not a terribly weighty or tannic wine, but also nothing terribly out of place. Pretty good at the price point, especially given how commonly Kosher wines get marked-up around Passover.

(89+)*** From a plot in Nuits Saint-Georges - Very light color. Fresh and fruity nose, strongly marked with apricot and apple, with a spicy background. A pleasure that lingers on the palate. (89+)

Brought this to a dinner and it was basically a pop 'n pour. A beautiful nose. On the palate it had a great combination of fruit and spice. A big hit with everyone. I've had some disappointing Blue Slide Pinots the past 2 years, but this was great.
