5.7°—golden, nutty, shadows in cream-texture, of toasted ester. Lemon-scented baking crust. A bare scent of spring clover. Iron and cherry blossom mock a dry, rotund, finish.

Authentically Albarino-esque Koshu. Light yellow/green color. Nose is primarily lemon and grapefruit, with slight touch of chalky smokiness followed by polished hints of oak. The mouth confirms the nose - light/airy with good acidity, followed by subtly creamy richness. Very harmonious with good stuffing. Koshu from this konbu/kelp food product company (they are terroir sensitive for their konbu production) is consistently a hidden gem.

When the chardonnays of Oiry, Avize and Chouilly meet the Pinot Noirs of Aÿ.

In terms of style, the mouth leans more towards an Egly, but finer. Flavors of biscuits, peach, butter, burnt wood and a little nut… This wine is definitely the most complex and successful, hence its delayed marketing. And even so, it's too young for my taste although its marketing is out of step with the rest of the range. But the potential is undeniable.

Dgt 10/2023. 100% Pinot Noir

Magnificent portrait of Aÿ, very restrained, with vinosity and black fruits. It is imperative to age, as it is so structured and viscous. Great potential, it's like a book that turns page by page, it made me think of Krug.

DSG 10/2023. 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.

As the name suggests, these are the favorite plots of the master of the estate. And we quickly understand why this vintage is such a favorite for me. It’s a mini Clos des Goisses for €30 estate price. It is vinous and precise, deep, powerful but at the same time delicate. A very good champagne.

Fully blossoming now, this is just another gorgeous 2016 from Tuscany. Drinks more like a $60 Bruneli than a $20 Vino Nobile. I love the thought of this with some nice dry rub pork ribs.
Wish I had some :)

As this bottle exhibit more fruitiness and fullness from previous bottles, I just checked the lunar calendar, and today is flower day. The fruit is just so much more gorgeous. I can only encourage readers to try to open bottles on leaf day and fruit day to taste the difference. Or is it bottle variations ? Well just try ! This has no scientific rationale but on many occasions I felt the difference and wanted to share this experiment.

DSG 10/2023. 55% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir.

This rosé is an ode to the art of Champagne blending. Constituting 25% of the estate's sales, this vintage requires every attention. Elegant rosé, very gentle, on raspberry, with great length and freshness due to its majority of chardonnay. Delicate and fresh.

DSG 10/2023. 70% Pinot Noir from Bisseuil and 30% Chardonnay

Concentrated and precise champagne, full of spices, just right to give comfort. Tangerine and peach flavors. Chardonnay gives this extra depth and length which makes it a fresh and digestible champagne.

DSG 10/2023. Grapes from Mareuil, Oiry and Chouilly mainly.

Tasty champagne, lemon zest and wet stone. Tracing but not boring, surprisingly supple for a recent disgorgement, it’s a nice introduction.

Juicebomb in its prime youth. Wouldn't hurt to lay it down for at least another 5 years but it seems old enough to hang.

Color: deep garnet with some transparency. Nose: Strawberry, raspberry, violet, dry pebbles , and black spices. Palate: medium to low unstructured tannins, with square shaped very high acidity, with finely powdered texture. Aromatically a spicy red, but structurally works as a white substitute - effectively resets any dishes with sweet deep body like soy/sake based Japanese stews or rich tuna sashimi with soy sauce.

Almost 2 years to the day since my last bottle. Pnp straight from the cellar. This is aging well and is in a beautiful spot now, with the nose having opened up and the palate no longer showing the effervescence that I recalled from before. This is an elegant, tasty wine, with complexity and a long finish. I recommend drinking this at cellar temp. This should easily last through 2034.

First time trying a Kerner wine. Good balance similar to what I'd expect of a Riesling but maybe less sweet and less acidic. Enjoyed with a spicy stir fry.

Beautiful wine. Much fuller and warmer vs 2007 and 2006 (hallmark of 2009). But still some aromatics. Tanins are there but well integrated.

Notes of cured meat, red fruits and spices. Silex in the finish. Would recommend. Ready now. Enjoy!

Day 2: Very concerned about this shipment from WTSO. Had a Stangeland that was just not good and this wine while young should be much better on day 2 so no score. Watered down, Chesnuts, muted fruits and spice. Some earth on the finish. No rating.

Seemed pretty tight on the pop 'n pour and it fleshed out a bit as the evening went on. Still, this never really fully unwound, even the next evening (I saved about a glass under vacu-vin). Compared to the 2015 version I tried a few days earlier, this seemed more structured, with less fruit presence, but still Au Bon Climat-like. As I described the 2015, this seemed like an Au Bon Climat Pinot with a RRV flavor profile (which it is!). And that's a very good thing. I still think this needs a bit more time to flesh out. Note to self - wait until 2027+ to open the next bottle.

Dark and red berries in the beautiful bouquet with beautiful oak and some chocolate. On the palate juicy red and dark berries and a firm amount of good and fresh acidity and sticky tannin. Classical and very beautiful complex wine with still a great future until 2035+. For now 92 – 93+.

Beautiful bouquet with dark berries and beautiful oak and cedar. On the palate juicy dark berries, some earth, friendly and juicy acidity and round tannin. A mouth full and a lot of everything and already quite open for business. Beautiful wine in its early maturity stage.

More intense than Phelan Segur 2009 in the same flight. Beautiful dark berries and fresh notes in the bouquet. On the palate blackberries and cherries, bell pepper, cedar, juicy and good acidity and still firm tannin. Textbook St. Estephe and really beautiful, but still too young. Waiting another decade will probably be rewarding. 93++

This was used to be my go to Prosecco, but this vintage is so disappointing. The primary flavours are lacking and weak, I could only get very simple flavours of some green fruits, and there's an unpleasant bitterness in it if not well chilled. Can't believe this is a Valdobbiadene Prosecco.

It took a loooong time for this to open up. Mostly red-fruit driven profile with tobacco, herbs and some minerality. It felt somewhat 'vintage' and I'm not sure that's the right description but seemed like an old wine even though just a 2010. I bought this on a whim from B-21 as it had a good year and the price was very decent for an aged Bordeaux. Admittedly I don't know anything about the producer - maybe I should have done some research first. Wine was good and enjoyable but not my favorite style.

Value: I paid $59.00 and I would say there's plenty of other options at that level I'd prefer

Would I buy again: maybe - it's possible this wine needs still more time to develop

Score: 90 points - good wine

Beautiful bouquet with cherries and berries like e.g. blackberries, a bit herbaceous and a pleasant dose of oak. On the palate juicy acidity and some green impressions, beautiful acidity and tannin. The wine is in its young maturity stage and already very tempting with definitely 3+ years of future ahead.

The bouquet is still a bit reticent but shows dark and red berries, beautiful oak and cigar box flavors. On the palate dark and red berries, some bell pepper, juicy and beautiful acidity and a slight, pleasant touch of sweetness in the finish. Still in its early youth. Will probably show more finesse round 2030.
