Rutherford Estate produces our favorites of the St. Supery cabernets. This one is drinking really well right now.

The CP was dark and broad with black currants, smoke, cured meat, spice and iron. It showed a bit of the 06 chunky fruit with dense and intense palate. It is still a few years away from its prime drinking window. Good wine for the vintage.

Better values out there at this price point. Wouldn’t buy again.

This wine is super under the radar

I poured it into my decanter to let it sit for an hour, and when I went back into my kitchen, I could smell it before crossing the threshold. This nose is worth the price of admission alone. Just wonderful.

Apparently, this property is right next to Monte bello, and I’m 100% buying that. Super lush mouth feel, complementary acidity, medium-long, earthy finish and well integrated tannins make this one a stand out.

The fact that I found this without any problem for about $30 is kind of crazy. I’m gonna go snag a few more bottles, and drink it easily over the next 10 years. Definitely worth seeking out.

Fantastic. Has several more years ahead but drinking well now with a little air. Plenty of fruit (cherry) but enough backbone to stand-up to a steak. Enjoy now or over the next several years.

I can't put it any better than 'Eudemis', his critique is on the mark. I opened the bottle about 5 hours before sharing it at a meeting with wine friends (at a fabulous Fort Lauderdale restaurant: Maass). Yes, it was pretty dark golden yellow but the oxidative notes present at first opening it had blown off. The other bottles I still have will stay in my cellar for a while.

Amazing. I didn't get much on the nose even with swirling but the flavor... Fruit-forward cherries and raspberries with a hint of gravel underneath. No alcohol burn, tannins present but only if you asked to see them. Such perfect balance. PnP at cellar temp and paired with sous vide ribeye. My wife was equally impressed (with the wine, not me.)

The velvet on the label gives you a good idea of what this taste like. This was very rich, jammy, and smooth. Would definitely recommend!

In earlier vintages, Juvenile was one of my favorite Turley zins, despite its lower price point. This vintage is not in the same territory. It's off-putting when first opened, and gets moderately tolerable with an hour or so of oxygen. Disappointing turn in this bottling.

5/12. In light of my last note I carefully aerated the bottle into a decanter. It made a difference—it drinks beautifully and immediately (with scratch einkorn patty melt, sub baby farm leeks.)

Syrah from South Africa has a very light aroma and colour. It has a light ruby colour & medium (-) aromas of cherry, clove, a hint of pepper, and blueberry.

The flavours are of medium intensity with cherry rhubarb, red plum, blueberry, Earl Grey tea, and minerals. The finish is dry and quick, but the wine is still lovely and delicate. This is not for those who prefer bombastic and ripe Syrahs.

Rather fleeting impressions but seems like a very tasty, somewhat light and open Classico.

A great Malbec. Also not getting the tannin punch that some reference; they seem nicely integrated to me. Early in its window and clocking at 13.5%; no alcohol heat. This is savory & exceptional.

Very enjoyable. Vanilla oak certainly dominates the nose. Plenty of fruit on the palate although nothing overly precise that I can lay out. Just enough acidity and tannin to give structure and balance. Finish comes back to the vanilla oak. Not the most complex but really enjoyable and easy to drink for me. Maybe better in a few years if the oak integrates but no need to wait if the mold strikes.

Cool nose of lemon, green apple, some herbs, a green grassy note, and a little bit of funk even. Palate has good followthrough from the nose with some chalkiness, great acidity, and a smooth mouthfeel. Light and refreshing, great with Indian food.

This is the real deal, but it's definitely keeping its card close to its chest right now. Fresh, concentrated, focused, and serious. I personally really enjoyed it at this stage, especially on day two, but I would bet on it giving much more pleasure a few (several?) years from now.

Medium-dark ruby. Smelled red and black cherries and a little orange peel; the taste was sweet raspberry, cranberry, cherry. Medium mouthfeel balanced nicely against the fruit, not much tannin evident, but good acidity; the finish goes fruity and medium in length. Very appealing and almost cheap enough to be chuggable.

Rich gold colored.
Ripe nose with some petrol and botrytis.
Just off-dry sweetness, 11%
Balanced acidity, but without the bones for longer aging.
Drink up while this is still so lovely.
A great surprise and qpr

Very interesting wine. Strong nose of cedar, sweet tobacco or cigar box. After 1 hour decant opened up and now some green pepper. Palate is medium bodied, good acid and tannins …. interesting. It’s fuller than the French Cab Francs I’ve had. I think I like this a lot.

Purple in color. 13% ABV. Savory nose of dark fruits, olives, bacon fat and flowers. Medium to full bodied with perfect acidity and balance. Loads of rich, rustic fruits. Black cherry, blueberry, smoke and gamey meats on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Delicious wine that improved with time in the glass and was even better on day two. Best over the next 2-3 years.

Bottle 8 years ago disappointing, after bottle nine years ago was great. I needed to wait. This is beautiful-fruit (black cherries and other dark fruits are still there), but it remains an elegant wine, with integrated tannins. So smooth in the mid palate, and lingers at the end. I am sold on well made 20+ year old Bordeaux. Had with burgers, albeit Wagyu beef burgers.
