not much change since my last bottle four years ago - not particularly complex or long but this has a lovely balance to it and is incredibly easy to drink and refreshing - delicious!

Decanted 2+ hours, tiny bit of fine sediment.
Very dark. Black cherries, tobacco, sweet oak and a bit of mocha on the nose. on the palate more sweet black cherries, some licorice and spices, and a good dollop of oak (that is not yet fully integrated).
Superb, medium-long finish. Will benefit from a few more years of age as well as a good decant. Well done for a second wine!!

Loved this, so much better than a normal Rosé. Lovely yeasty nose with raspberry some farmyard funk. Enters the palate only very lightly sweet, finishes appropriately dry good phenolics.

this does pour a lovely salmon pink and while quite moreish, I'm not sure it is worth the price

Bigger and richer style of Muscadet. I really prefer the sharper, minerals and more acidic style.

drunk alongside the 1990 Trotanoy, this was a bit of a disappointment on the night - not very expressive at all even after quite a long decant, I will leave my last bottle for a decade or even more

drunk alongside the 1990 La Conseillante, this was much the better of the two - certainly mature and firing on all cylinders - when Trotanoy is good, it is very very good - sensational wine

Had with roast pork tenderloin. A decent pairing, although a bit more pepper/spice in the wine than was probably optimal for this dishas it was prepared.

Consensus was this was a nice wine, good not great. No one rejected it and no one was clamoring to open a second bottle.

Still rather closed -- good fruits -- strawberries and dark fruits with a slight jam edge, but plenty more time needed. Cellared since original release.

Light color and body, easy drinking, similar to an ethereal Pinot Noir. Dominant cherry flavors.

Probably more like 91.5, but on a night where the Knicks had a great comeback win, let's give Amare the benefit of the doubt. Not sure how heavily involved in the production of this wine the former NBA star is, but it received a very nice reception at our seder last night. Not a terribly weighty or tannic wine, but also nothing terribly out of place. Pretty good at the price point, especially given how commonly Kosher wines get marked-up around Passover.

(89+)*** From a plot in Nuits Saint-Georges - Very light color. Fresh and fruity nose, strongly marked with apricot and apple, with a spicy background. On the palate, it is supple and fruity, with just the right amount of richness and roundness but without excess. A structured and rich Chardonnay with notes of butter and toasted bread. A pleasure that lingers on the palate. (89+)

Traditional Chablis. No oak treatment, austere and acidic. If you like this style of wine as I do, this village level wine overachieves. Good value.

One of our home favs. The wine looks greenish gold colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like pear. The body is light/medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has low acidity.

Brought this to a dinner and it was basically a pop 'n pour. A beautiful nose. On the palate it had a great combination of fruit and spice. A big hit with everyone. I've had some disappointing Blue Slide Pinots the past 2 years, but this was great.

My last bottle of not only this vintage, but of this cuvee from Rochioli. Basically a pop 'n pour, and I shared this with friends. It was a big hit. More Burgundian than a lot of CA pinots. Medium+ length finish.

Color is medium lemon. This wine needs to be a little warmer to release the aroma. Medium to deep grass, a hint of green pepper but also some passion fruit and honey. Medium to high acidic. Dry with medium alcohol and body. Medium intensity in taste with similar but added some wet stone. Definitely a little bit of barrels.

The 21 years since this was crafted has been very good to this wine. The nose itself was intoxicating with deep blue fruits of plum & blackberries wrapped around some vanilla from the oak.

The palate was soft and lush and very well balanced. While the tannins are securely in place it was not as stringent. Plenty of black fruits, herbs and oak imparted spices and vanilla. This did get better with airtime but good to go from the bottle. One reviewer preferred this without food, and it was delish, but paired with Italian made that 3rd flavor emerge which increased enjoyment considerably!

Absolutely brilliant showing with medium to full body, complex blend of fresh citrus, stone fruit, tropical fruit and early stages of fruit development. Add to that perfectly integrated oak, some matchstick/gunpowder complexity and a long, satisfying finish ending fresh and lively. Excellent!

The '20 Castiglione is a pretty wine that stands out for its energy and exotic, tropical fruit tones. My sense of Vietti is that they may be moving towards a style with higher acidity than prior and more exotic / tropical fruit tones than before. I noticed this nearly across the board in '19 - in particular, the Barbaresco or Monvigliero are the two best examples of it that year. The '20 Castiglione continues the trend. I'm not aware of / sure if anything has actually changed in the winemaking, but this is how the wines have come across to me.

On the nose, I found a blast of fresh citrus / exotic tropical fruit notes, going beyond the common orange peel and more into passion fruit and fresh orange like notes. Alongside these exotic notes, I found more typical crunchy red berry fruit, red roses, and mint. From both the tropical fruit and the way the red berry fruit comes across, you immediately get the sense that this is going to be a high acid wine. On the palate, that's exactly what you get. The wine is medium in body with high acidity with red berry and citrus fruit, red florals, spice, and mint. There's a lot of tannin today that could use some time to integrate. The energy level here from the acidity is very high, almost overbearing, and I do wonder what happens to a wine with this fruit profile and acid level with time in the cellar. That said, it's attractive and I find it easy to drink this wine despite its intensity.

When you are so daring to put on the label a low score (88), it will be for something. Recycled artificial closure (!) of silicone not advertised in the bottle.
Translucent yellow color with golden reflections. Vegetal aromas on the nose with fennel, notes of citrus tangerine and also chalk mineral. Initially it moves those similar echoes on the palate, with a good acidity and a bitter finnish. Simple, quaffable and effective. Better if it’s served well-chilled.

Amazing length and depth of flavor. Still such concentration yet tannins are perfectly integrated. Dark chocolate, espresso, leather, and tar. So hint of oxidation is present, but fruit is barely there. One of the best Napa cabs I’ve had.

Took a while to open up. First 1/2 drunk with lamb chops, fiddlehead ferns. The wine tasted leathery, not very fruity. The next day, drank the rest with seared pepper-crusted tuna, and it was great.

Golden. Great delicious scent of ripe apple. Fat and oily. Delicious acidity with good length

This is a lovely Napa representation of a classic Rhone grape. Lots of stone fruit and apple on the palate, with good acidity to keep it crisp. From grapes grown in Carneros and Oak Knoll. Drinking really well right now, at 5 years old.
