Still powerful. Strong graphite, cedar, tobacco to start. After a couple hours some more fruit showed through, but more body, grip, and concentration than the 1995 Latour we had alongside it. However, it was a bit one note at first, so maybe it needs a bit more time to show more balance.

Light gold color. Drank a glass over 2 hours. This was right on point tonight. A spendid example of what I adore in classically made white burgundy. There is such a deft had at work here; measured, precise, and beautifully manicured. This is the picture of refinement and harmony, a masterful crystalline latticework of minerality, crisp and bright; Meyer lemon, nectarine, and tangerine fruit. This is ultra focused with tension and energy, cool lemon, subtle gunflint, tangerine panna cotta and a cool limestone finish. Great showing. 95+ to 96pts.

Double filteted/decanted. Loads of sediment & funky nose to start but quickly opened up. Perfect with duroc chop pan fried with shrooms & pancetta layered into mushroom ravioli. I sensed savory acidity ala pomegranate seeds that have started to ferment with a nice savory earthiness. Long red fruit finish with just a hint of absinthe. Past its prime? Not for me, evolving character of really well aged wines like this is a lovely unique experience.

Mature. Wonderful Syrah in its drinking window. Really came to life with about 30 minutes of air. All those meaty, smokey notes that I love. Plenty of dark fruits. Enough tannin to carry it through to a long finish. Feels like it still has some time left if you are holding on.

Great little bottle of wine for 50 bucks! You can't go wrong with any 2016 Barolo provided it is ready to drink. This is really classic Barolo ( cherries, licorice, tar. roses) on a very easy drinking level. Lighter body. Great appetizer course wine.

Light plus golden color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. My first experience with the '02 P2, but the regular '02 has been a long time favorite. So it was fun to finally get a chance to try this before my bottles arrive. Explosive and ultrafine bubbles and mousse, meet you from the start and signal the sublime elegance that is to come. Wow, simply beautiful and showing the class and complexity of the extended time on the lees. Caramel, flan, creamy and subtle, pastry crust, pear and mirabelle plum; long and contemplative, almond tart, fine lemon, brioche, toasty, stony minerality, texturally grand! This was a revelation tonight, though not so unexpected. I look forward to drinking this side by side with the '04 P2 and watch the stars align. Blissfully good.

Love this. Needs about an hour to open up.
Concentrated and complex nose with citrus, tropical fruits, honey, white flowers and candy. The notes from the barrels are distinct but unobtrusive and well integrated.
Perfectly balanced in the mouth, with great concentration. The dosage is perfect, not at all to dry.
Lingers long.
Feels mature without any obvious signs of maturity and is, for my taste buds, perfect right now. You can probably hold this a few more years without any downside but not sure it will improve.

Definitely get a few bottles of this if you can as it is well worth the price. I had not heard anything good about 18 Piemonte, but a trusted wine salesman up in Boston convinced me to buy a bottle and it was a great move. Evidently, Oddero blended in many of there single Vineyard bottlings, and you can really tell. I didn't get the red fruit people are describing. The first bottle (I went back and bought a few more) was a dark brooding Barolo with black fruits like black cherry and fig, licorice, tar, gravel, and some balsamic notes. It was thick and chewy with lush fruit that (in the first bottle) covered up the tannins and made for an extremely easy and beautiful drink. I did however notice that the next few bottles I drank over the next couple months seem to be shutting down a bit, and the tannins are a bit more noticeable. I will sit on my last couple bottles until they turn 9 or 10. This is an incredible buy and I highly recommend to any Barolo drinker.

Translucent mid-ruby. Deep nose of potent smoky plum, healthy damp cellar, late-arriving but nostril-filling violets, astringent brambly earth. Layers of brilliant crunchy cherry and raspberry fruit girded by iron and earthy briar on the ebullient palate. Firm tannin counterpointed by fresh, almost brash acidity. Long finish of echoing red berry, iron granules, fine earth. Young, energetic wine bursting with life. Long evolution ahead.

Juicy red fruit, almost like watermelon jolly ranchers. Mouth watering acidity. Very pleasant and food friendly, but fairly straightforward. Drink up!

smoked bacon fat surprisingly dominates the nose, little tomato leaf, touch of sweet spice, slightly pretty. And that translates to the palate, plentiful drying grip closes things down, fresh but with muted fruit.

Slow ox 45 minutes. Fairly dark. Youthful sweet cassis and French oak aromas. Warm, rich, slightly ripe fruit yet balancing tannins and acid. Long, sweet finish. Most experienced blind tasters thought this was a 20 yr old left bank BDX! Still has a few miles on it before the warranty expires :)

Brought this to Kai Garden for dinner with my old friends to celebrate a birthday. We ordered the Crackling Pork Belly, Signature Crispy Peking Duck, Sautéed Hong Kong Kai Lan with Dried Fish, and Poached Tofu and Pork Belly with Cabbage.

Bottle breathed for an hour before drinking. Lush, homely, flavourful. The rich ripe plums in this wine shines brightly like a lighthouse, giving it direction, focus and purpose. Finish is fruity, fresh and vibrant.

Was pleasantly surprised how nice this wine turned out to be. But that truly is one of the pleasures of tasting wines which we are not so familiar with, isn't it?

Wow, this is good. Expressive Riesling nose from the first minute, full of fruit with a hint of petrol, on the palate good balance between acidity and sweetness, good depth and long finish.

Textbook Kabinett in a good spot now, for sure, it will age nicely but there is also no reason not to drink it now. A big step up compared to the Brauneberger Riesling J trocken, we had at the same evening.

Popped the cork and allowed 6 hours to breath. With time and swirling in the glass, it helped things along.

Expressive nose. Black cherry, cherry syrup, & strawberry commingle.

Super sleek, refined, juicy, and puckery on the palate with a long-ish finish.

Perfect acidity that is subtle, yet keeps you coming back for more. Time will allow this to become even more refined and more elegant. A super wine from a super producer and super vintage.

I drank alongside the '19 Rio Sordo. That wine has great attributes but it will most certainly need 3+ years to get to a place of readiness. It really may need 5+. But all the goods are there. And will show great one day.

But back to this. The Paje compares closely to the '19 Montestefano that I was just gaga over. This is super close to that in almost every way. (Me- 99pts)This is gonna be hard to keep my hands off. It's so good and accessible now.

But I will keep my dirty paws off of it because I promised myself I will! Godammit!. I can't break yet another promise to myself again? Can I? The discipline to not open another bottle will show what men of steel are made of. Did I just say that?? Oh Lawd, get me a corkscrew already. Me and Paje or gonna Par-tay again :)

With a nice meat and cheese platter perhaps?

Cheers all! :)

Beautiful dark golden in color. Initial oxidized nose with old wood, grilled pineapple and salted caramel on the nose. Good acidity and complex flavors of caramel, tropical fruits and beautiful acidity. This wine started off chilled, and it showed more oxidation, but as it slowly warmed up, it really blossomed into floral and tropical fruit notes on the nose and the pallet.

Salmon pink in colour. On the whole, the Merlot did a good job holding intensity and balance in this rose. Mildly flavourful, it complemented every dish we ordered, providing a lush cover and the acidity cut through the richness of the food, leaving the plate clean, crisp and fresh.

Couldn't have asked for more from this rose. Ideal when paired with food, perfect to be drank on its own on a warm summer day. Served chilled.

from half bottle. darker than i might expect and while not bad, its more advanced than it should be. has a honeyed richness with a hint of butter solids, and still decent acidity to keep it interesting, but it drank best fridge temp as opposed to cellar temp, which in the realm of white burgs tells you something, i think. have had some issues with '14 boillot as well, caveat emptor.

Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour next to the '02 Dom P2. This was the third time having the '12 including at Taittinger last Fall. This continues to be in that vibrant and fresh mode with plenty of electricity and cut. I fully expect this to evolve even further over the next few years, but it is inspiring now and hard to keep one's hands off when given the opportunity to experience it. Tons of fresh air, tart apple, Anjou pear, toast, tart, great freshness and cut, very bright, green apple peel, very invigorating. 95+(+)pts.

Wow. Incredible wine. Not my style exactly but it's really extraordinary. Rich and plush w/o being at all over the top. Structure was insane. This wine will drink for a long, long time. It is however very enjoyable now with a decant. I decanted for probably 45 minutes and it was roaring from the glass. Incredibly complex, thick, and chewy. The tannins are pure velvet. More sugary/ chocolaty fruit than earth or mineral. I can see why people who like this style of wine pay this price. For me though, I prefer the straight Ornellaia. FYI I didn't get the olive notes that many of the pro reviewers describe, nor did the people I drank it with.

This is a bright & refreshing white, which reminds me of a hard cider. It has some sweet pear & apple undertones, but not the syrupy sweetness I had expected of a riesling. It has a lighter composition & is not deeply complex with the appearance of a light straw color. But it went perfectly with my pork meatloaf tonight.

I’d imagine this would be a great wine to enjoy over the summer. Cheers!

This was a pop and pour. There is a notable herbal note that persists even as it opens up. That said, there is a good bit of tension and pleasing fresh citrus fruits of pears, green apples, and candied lemon peels along with saline, flint, pithy notes, as well as crushed rocks. The Medium bodied feel is fresh and lively with tart, medium+ acidity. This shows off its class as it fights past what the vintage gave. There is that bit of herbal streak that borders on underripe and actual tension, but this is a fun Chablis that hits the notes you want, but without that extra gear.

Liquid lemon tart is the perfect way to describe this (as the other reviewer mentioned). This was already incredibly perfumed on pop and pour - no reductiveness and no shyness on the nose when opened. Great acidity and minerality, but so much complexity on the nose. The finish was long but no butteriness at all (which is a plus in my book). Would absolutely love to drink this again.

PnP. Great wine. Drank before a 2006 Masseto, and while the Masseto was definitely the better wine, I actually preferred this. Drank perfectly. I would say it's definitely in its prime drinking window. A bit on the lighter side which is typical of the vintage. I love 96 BDX. One of my favorite vintages. The Montrose was classic aged Bordeaux. Stoney St. Estephe with pretty fruit, and beautiful earthiness. Smooth tannins. If you come across a bottle it's definitely worth it.
