I openned and left in btl for 2 hours to serve. It was better than last time, good BDX nose, smooth palate with good structure and after taste. A popular wine among other 86's in this special dinner.

A very powerful wine still! I openned 4 hrs in btl to serve and found tight in structure and tongue catching, but leaving in decanter for half an hr later, it shone as a top BDX. Dark brown cloudy, noble nose of old BDX, mouthful feeling, long after taste. A perfect conclusion wine among other 86 vintages red for her.

Great wine for the price. Went great with homemade fish and chips

This came out of a magnum so it was so incredibly fresh from the first pour. This needed a lot of air and just kept getting better and better. There were layers of apricots, citrus, pineapples, a gentle fuel driven nose but not overpowering. This kept unfolding with more air and was so beautiful. I will certainly consider decanting this next time.

Pnp. Vakker, kjølende og sitrusdrevet duft og smak. Sitrondrops, hvite blomster, kaldt smør og nøtter. Nøysom fatbruk og vinen oppleves som fjellbekkren. Intens og elegant fra start til mål.

A very young wine as commented by Leon, as the colour shown not more than 20 years old. The nose was still subtle even after 2 hrs in btl but structure was still tight, smoother with time in glass. A wine for her in the special dinner.

A little muted on the nose so I decided to decant this on opening. An hour later this started to improve and just kept getting better. Starting to turn a little secondary but this has a long drinking window ahead. Lots of dried figs, toasted cherries and a lovely finish.

This was stunning, so balanced with pineapples and apricots, and with air just kept improving. I think this is still so young and primary I would cellar my single bottle for at least 5 years to see how this will evolve and if it ll get more oily like what we would expect with rayas blanc

Magnum bottle openned 2hrs in btl to serve in the BD dinner. It was surprisingly young, bright yellowish with leas, but becoming golden colour after 2 hrs more, lovely nose of white flowers and tropical fruits, smooth palete, good acidity for structure, premier cru quality, a very enjoyable wine.

Bra basvin. Passade både till kräftor och chark. Lätt stil, blir nog gott att dricka även utan mat.

A nice wine this, but not really worth the price point if you ask me. Translucent red. Upon opening, loads of cherries on the nose and some oak too. Had a small sip, rather sour. Decanted for an hour, much better, but still a lot of acidity. This wine might need another year or two to really blossom.

This was one of the best wines I have ever had from Pacalet. I am normally not a fan of his style. On the news, it was almost Rayas-like with strawberries, thyme and inner sweetness. On the pallet, it is all about elegance and sweetness. Almost opulent in its fruitiness and softness. Very few tannins left.

One year on (see 1 May 23 note) and an additional point. As I wrote then a very strong sense of place.

PnP. Under natural cork. Over two nights. Light-to-medium gold colour. The nose is well-developed showing notes of honeycomb, lush white peach, bruised apple, a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with good weight and intensity. While being sort of «fleshy» in style, it has right acidity that balance a rich fruit on the palate and lead to a nice mineral finish. Very delicious white burg. Can easily age a few more years but it’s drinking so well now. 91-92.

Interesting. Bit of reduction/matchstick on the bouquet, then bits of white-florals. A bit light-bodied, but nice minerality & tension. Should be better with more cellar time.

Quite distinctively white-Burg - white flowers after air/time in glass. Good level of extract/concentration on the palate. Nice!

This bottle much better than last, although cork a bit dry and the bottle is definitely showing its age. Cherry pie, raspberries, garrigue and asian spice on the expressive nose. Cherry, black cherry, kirsch on the attack; pleasant notes of dusty field herbs and spice through the slightly syrupy finish. Drinking nicely, but not sure how much longer.

Similar kerosene/petrol notes on the nose. This was a tad rounder than the Springvale. Less "electricity"...

Served side-by-side the '09 Polish Hill, I had thought this was showing better - petrol, flint, then lemon/lime on the palate. Nicely lifted (and fresh)!

Rich but needed time in the bottle to soften. I think I've fallen into the trap of drinking it a bit too early just because it doesn't say premier cru on the label.

The aroma is light and enticing. Pencil shavings, green peppercorns, underripe blackcurrants.
The palate is tight and young. Bright blackcurrant, some pepper. Longish finish.

On the nose, there is fruity cassis, tobacco, pepper, buttermilk. Rich mouthfeel, a gentle smoky note, more cassis, warm pepperiness, tobacco, green bell pepper, grippy tannins, loooong aftertaste. Age has done this very well!

The aroma is all encompassing, rich, and ever enduring. Notes of bees wax, cheese rind, butter, flowers, and a soft apple-like acidity.
The mouthfeel is rich and oily. Opens creamy, butter and hazelnuts. Then comes acidity, bitterness, but the creaminess lingers. Astonishing!

{screwcap, 13%} No ullage, no decant. Yet, an alarming murky brick/brown colour. Leathery, old nose and palate, with some trembling volatility on the way. Acid otherwise moderate, tannins have faded away, ancient ripe grapes of no particular varietal character; plausible considering this is a blend of CS,shiraz, CF, merlot. Rotting leaves, generic red fruits on the way out. Medium weight, shortish drying finish. Cork looked fine; likely either poor storage or simply too old.

8 hour decant and it isn’t too much. So young and closed still. Lots of blackberries and rose right in your nose. Quite dry tannic start but gets much better with food. Very powerful and modern Barolo. Long aftertaste and a promise of a long life.

Bought recently. Decanted for one hour in a small decanter. Medium garnet colour. Dark fruit, plum, blackberry, prune, herbaceous notes, intense tobacco, milk chocolate, light espresso, spices, balsamic notes, and notable old-age sweetness, with medium-level acidity, mostly resolved tannin, and good to very good length. Medium-bodied, with good concentration. A little angular. Leathery and balsamic on day two. Drink now, and over the next five or six years.

This Champagne is just getting better and better for every time we revisit. Lovely acidity and plenty of fruit to go with it. Citrus, sourdough, yeast, mineral and fine but lively effervescence. So powerful I recommend food with it. Will only improve with further cellaring.
