This is a monster. A lot of potential, so concentrated, and tannic.
Amazing complexity.
Try again in 5 years ?

PnP 375 - broken cork, bottom 1/3 pushed into bottle. Appearance: Some cork residue, otherwise clear, deep ruby nearly all the way to the edge with no bricking. Nose: Clean, with developing aromas of cream and dark fruit - blackberry, black raspberry and plum with saddle leather, eucalyptus, and violets - seductive. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin is soft and plush, medium+ body, medium+ intensity, 14.1% abv with developing flavors of blackberry, spice, and tobacco with a long finish.

Balance: Excellent-Outstanding
Length: Outstanding
Intensity: Excellent-Outstanding
Length: Outstanding

A truly exceptional wine still remarkably youthful at 17 years from a 375. Powerful, yet lean at 14.1% abv, this pretty much has it all. Likely near peak, but this has the stuffing to last a decade or more easily. Worth every penny of the $50 paid for it back in 2010.

And a little bit more green and crisp on palate, and nose. And tigher on the palate. Just one village, Vernay, and just one harvest '17, and disgorged in '21. THey own 16 hectares of a single estate. And Champagne this is demeter certified and organic. All about the place and time instead of the black, which is about the creation and craftsman ship. 6 grams, dosage but it feels lower.

Clearly the best in the lot, and as good as HM can get. Dense, extracted, expressive. Well advanced maturation, ripe red berries, mokka, chocolate, tobacco, prune. Well structured, complex and with a wonderful length. Can already be enjoyed, but I expect even more in 5 years.

As could be expected for the year, rather underwhelming and diluted. Heavy cedar, floral notes, pivoine, rose. Roast aromas. Don't expect miracles.

A pleasant Médoc, well made. Blueberries, vanilla, liquorice, sweet spices, leather, benefiting from a good year. Wait another 3 years.

With some Brioche notes on the nose. They say the oldest or one of the very few Champagne houses that is still family owned. Which gives them allot of access to premier cru and grand cru. They make it the old school way - no malo, it doesn't happen naturally. In the 1950s this changed across the region, but not for them. Lanson, Krug and Salon are the exceptions there. Freshness and crispness but longer aging on the lees is needed to balance that out. So this is 2016 balance vintage and then disgorged '22. And this goes back 1998, bouzy 2003, and then a solera of the black going back 20 years. Long aging for the yeast and bready, and then the spices and layers.

Very much penalized by its young age, with massive acidity and adstringence, which I can pardon. Red cherries, much wood, nuts, vanilla. Patience, although I don't expect this to ever reach the star vintages!

From 75cl, perfect cork, P+P and decanted straight out of the fridge—a big mistake. First 90 minutes: new oak, old oak and more new oak; closed and squeaky-textured. It finally opened up at near-room temperature, after 2 hours in the carafe. Lemon curd, liquorice, a complex, gently emollient texture, less acidity than expected. Very fine indeed. Needs air and (despite the 12-14C recommendation on the back label) serving at roughly 15-17C. Probably better in 5 years time.

Nose: earth, cherry, menthol, tar
Palate: cherry, red fruit, big black pepper, oak
Mouthfeel: soft, juicy start, big spicy tannic finish

Drinking very nicely right now but probably just past it’s prime

Pleasant white CdP, with melon, peach, honey, vanilla, butter notes and a subtle citric frame. However a bit overwhelmed by our fried salmon.

gave the glass air for over an hour. wine softened up considerably showing rose and tar on the nose. beautiful cherry fruit with just a hint of bitter almond on the finish. a great langhe nebbiolo but not quite as wonderful as the 2021. great depth of fruit from not necessarily all younger vines. love the line-up of wines from cavallotto. can't wait to taste the 2021 baroli this is top of class as far as langhe nebbiolo goes!

Still fresh and young, balancing dark berries, liquorice, herbal tones, tobacco and roast aromas. Consider waiting another 2 years though to fully develop.

Tasted on a dinner with Ming Fang in Madrid.

Magnificent wine, only 120 bottles made in 2020.

Classic Meursault style, opulent yet incredibly elegant. Very precise and center on the fruit, not reduction, a very pure style that reminds me of Arnoud Ente's wines. Still a bit young of course and lots of aging potential.

Mr Ming takes good care of corks and bottling in order to avoid and prevent premox, really interesting wine and winey, will be in everyone's mouth sooner rather than later.

Ruby and clear
闻起来超级香,草莓山楂,皮革,一层层的迸发出来
同时也有些Smoky

Dense, tannic, and modern. Opulent fruit, and a nose that references balsamic vinegar, mushrooms, green olives, cedar, and plums. Currently in a monolithic stage of development. Impressive for its power and very firm structure. This is absolutely built for the long hall, although my impression is that it will always remain tannic. Feels like new world fruit with an almost Barolo level of drying tannins. I will give this at least five years to see how the wine develops. Certainly outstanding, but not ready, and feels like an unusual amalgamation of styles. 93+

Ohh yess, more of that! A perfectly matured, super-typical Julien. Generous, mature fruit, cigar box and sweet spices in the nose. Perfect balance, elegant and very present, lush tertiary aromas, of tobacco, chocolate, sweet spices, tea, supported by a long, harmonic finish. Go for it, now or over the next 3-5 years.

Last had two years ago, and nicely maturing. We gave it a hard time, confronting it with a Léoville Poyferré 2001. Although the excellent Léoville clearly dominated, the Rubin did very well. Intense bouquet of mature, dark berries, cigar box, leather, plum, chocolate, sweet spices. Full bodied on the palate, elegant, dense, yet with lots of finesse and balance. Complex, combining generous, sweet fruit, toast, noble cask notes, chocolate, plum, liquorice, port, tobacco and menthol. Can be enjoyed now, over a decade.

As a nice evolution, my last bottle scores best of the lot, as the wine gained intensity and complexity. Mature dark berry nose, with some pepper, menthol and liquorice. Medium bodied, with dark fruit, toast, plum, pepper, garrigue, chocolate. Well structured and balanced.
