Pale red, brick edge.
Dark cherry, bright cherry stone spice, beautiful fragrance,
Ripe dark cherry, plums, boysenberry, with powerful spice, cherry stone zest and whole bunch, rich and complex. Youthful structure, finishing with very fine but strong tannins. In a great place but will age further well.

1/4, under DIAM (10).
Pale/medium straw. A little reticent on the nose at first this was never particularly aromatic but slowly opened to reveal lightly spicy apple and citrus fruit, with notes of vanilla and chalk. Medium bodied on the palate, fresh apple and citrus fruit, some attractive breadth here too with a nice, lightly sour edge, lovely vibrant acids which carry a very good length finish with citrus and spice notes. Lovely, drinking well, no particular hurry.

There's definitely been something wrong with my previous bottle, as this one was bursting with flavours straight after decanting. Full bodied, generously seasoned with spices (a touch aggressive to note) and tonnes of ripe fruits. Drinking OK now, but will keep. Possibly a bit too much of everything. 30 mo in French and Bulgarian 225 and 500ltr barrels. Alc - 14.2%

Focused, bright, refreshing. Good acidity and a bit one dimensional but delivers what is expected. 12.5% alc.

Very good again, and identical to my previous bottle consumed Jan-21. Jumping straight away with distinct blueberry/raspberry mixture, covered with creme fraiche, it is juicy and very delicious. Harmonious and structured, not sure how will keep my hand off the last bottle. 14.5%.

5th of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, big step up since last bottle in Feb 21, rounding out nicely with decent weight of fruit in mid palate, even some layering developing at last, an attractive drink developing here and with more to go, 10+ years. VG+ (16.5)......and much better than initial verdict!

Decanted for ~3 hours, then poured back into the bottle, which stood at cellar temp until the evening.

Tons of weight and fragrance. Layers of fresh berries, spices, black tea, dried florals, and a hint of citrus. Excellent expression of Bojo. Excited to see how this develops.

Interesting - light, pale straw coloured is paired with a rich smokey bouquet and almost tart peach flavours. Definitely needs time in the cellar and probably best enjoyed with food.

Again a very serious wine.
So well made.
However, the vintage is not very beneficial for this.
I much more preferred the cooler vintage versions of this (such as the brilliant 2017).
Darker fruits than usual, more rustic and less transparent, less "wild" (less stems?) and less acidity.
Still - a lovely easy drinking and enjoyable bottle, but missing some of the fine tuning and clean and wild feeling I usually get in this.
Perhaps some further cellar time will make this more interesting?

On the PnP. Dark ruby colour. Medium to high intensity from the get go. Sweet spice, cassis. Smells enticing.

There’s plenty of stuffing left in this wine. Surely, this can go another decade or more. Still plenty of fruit present; cassis and a hint of black cherry around the palate edge along with a bit of acidity that lifts this wine maintaining some freshness. There’s a black tea in the centre palate, and a hint of mint at the tip. Nice finish.

Can be quaffed but still better as a food wine.

I picked this up from a local auction site for AUD 44 (~GBP 22, USD 30). For the price and its longevity it is good QPR.

First bottle from a case of 2020.
Short note - just p & p'd and drunk.
The 2019 vintage of this wine was really stunning, a great qpr for a Vosne 1:er Cru.
Expectations rather high.
The 2020 version is perhaps not as good as the 19 (at least not at this point).
The vintage shows, this is a far less delicate and finely tuned wine.
Less floral and transparent, more alcohol and oomph.
Denser fruit, and heavier.
More oak present and warmer fruit makes for a less sexy wine at this young age.
Still very good, but I preferred the 2019.
I will try and give the next bottle some extended cellar time before opening.
Points for tonight's "test".

Umm. Have to report, sadly, that I haven’t greatly enjoyed these wines. Perhaps the vintage, maybe I have opened them in a poor period, but they are quite disappointing. They lack the chambolle perfume and elegance. Have a very generic taste and no length. Quite sad.

A lovely nose of lemon, white peach and spice. The palate is direct but has flesh. There's real saline minerality and chalk and it finishes with cut. Nice balance and totally accessibly, yet with build for further development.

Bright mid red, slight tinge of age at the edge, nose of forest floor, a little zesty red fruit notes, rose petals. On the palate light to medium weight, balanced acidity and red fruits, cherry, pomegranate, ... still some light powdery tannins, a little hot initially, good acidity mellows with each glass... as you might expect with the age... possibly past its best but a lovely mature pinot.

Dense in colour, ditto palate. Not overly subtle, but we can accommodate non subtlety on our palate when we have a wine that has depth such as this.

It is a peasant wine (and I mean that as a complement). Beaucastel may give you more aromatic complexity, but this wine does the job in its sterling simplicity.

It was probably half the price. I can't remember. The older I get and nearer to death, the less the price of wine matters.

Very pale gold, youthful colour. Brilliant lustre.
Gentle refined fragrance, spice and flowers.
Peach, honey, stone fruit, citrus zest, all of which are delivered in a silky refined style. Finishing impression is minerality, and very long. Absolutely delicious, and still very youthful. Year’s ahead of it.

Extraordinarily rich, full-bodied apricot and peach, the sweetness of this really stands out and I found it rather cloying but I assume this is the style they are aiming at for this bottling. Can't fault the quality but really not my cup of tea. Chelsea Lounge JFK.

Great poise and structure, lively but with a sedate nature, really nice. Lovely acidity and balance, with the warmth and comfort of fresh baked biscuits offset by zingy apple juice. JFK-LHR.

Very sweet and primary, lacking tannic grip and showing little potential to improve with age. Overpriced at $18.

This actually is not the Celestins—no reserve was produced in 2013. But not to worry. After only a few minutes, this is already showing very well. Gorgeous leggy ruby, pretty and abundant fruit aromas in the nose (strawberry and raspberry), and a palate that seems much less Grenache-centric than most CdPs. Palate is a little drying (but not dying), and lacks the richness, alcohol and overt ripeness of much CdP. What it lacks in garrigue is easily compensated by very pretty fruit flavors. This wasn’t cheap, but definitely comes across as a very classy and elegant wine. It’s like candy for oenophiles. 5-14-17-9: 95/100.
