Odd, this bottle seemed tighter and took longer to open up. Maybe Mouvedre can close down?

The Haut, which is their natural wine side. And a bit more calmed down before but still a little too funky for me. Works at $20 or so.

Dark ruby red colour. Dark plums and stone fruits on the nose. Taste of dark berries and dark stone fruits. Firm tannins with a long, well structured and juicy finish. Goes well with game and beef.

Light straw yellow colour. Herbs with hints of nettle on the nose. Taste of tropical fruits with hints of spices. Rather short, and almost bitter finish. Goes well with vegetables.

The Haut Salettes actually. Well, they know how to charm mourvedre. Pretty on the nose, robust on the palate. Powerful stuff.
White
The Haut natural wine actually. And lively and with some freshness. A bit of a salty twang as well.
White
Such a wonderful salty minerality. The green thing on the nose in a charming way. On day two.

2020 Château Salettes Bandol Mourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre (view label images)
Darn this is amazing Bandol Rouge. So Aromatic and dense, so good right now. Apparently they skipped either '18 or '19 because they were too brooding and released this vintage instead.
White
Has just a classic sense of Provence Blanc. And then thicker and nuttier on the palate. With some thickness but not overdone. I could imagine it would pair incredibly well with some cheese. But which cheese?

All the vines are head trained. and then rocks that hold the heat. A touch of raspberry to start things off, and then loads of blackberry fruit to it. "Mourvedre needs its feet in the water and its head towards the sun." Dark and mysterious on the palate. Rather darn dense to it. They are releasing the '20 before the '18 because the '18 is such a darn beast to it. Rather darn tasty wine here.
White
This is actually the Haut Salette Blanc, not the regular.
White
The natty "Haut" offshoot that is more high altitude. and that is slightly natty, slightly salty, densely woven on the palate but tight across the palate. Intense, if not quite hedonistic enough for me, but maybe that is just me. Very salty on the finish.
Rosé
Amazing this vintage.
Rosé
Darn good 'till the last drop!
Rosé
A blood orange fruit nose. Just shipped. And a little bit thick. But served warm. Andrew notes that it tastes really darn good. Lots of complexity and depth to it. Salty and tangy on the palate.

Very nice and special white, with quite new grapes for me. Clairette is dominating. «Fat» like chardonnay, but i think milder. Will try another bottle in not too long. :)
Rosé
So good, why not?

Subdued nose with some orange. Very smooth layered, good acidity, nice.
Rosé
Does smell a bit aged - musty. But also just off the cork pull. Savory in all ways. For me, its past its fun time but still drinkable for sure.
White
Pineapple and flush and super textures.

Not (yet?) as good as the 2018 with somewhat ointment like aromas and less complexity. Enjoyable though.

Bandol rosé is usually a cut above most others and this is a good example. Colour is deeper than most in Provence, the berry fruit is juicier, there are hints of minerals and spices and the finish is more structured with slight hints of eau de vie blanche. Very good and worthy of its quite high price (c.€20 IIRC).

80% Mourvedre is joined by 15% Grenache and 5% Carignan in this perfect pairing with cold weather and rustic stews. This wine is in a great place right now, showcasing the meaty, hearty Mourvedre - dark fruits, game meat, garrigue, touches of smoke and a faint red fruit spice that I presume comes from the Grenache. A nice wine and worth finding. This 2010, if properly stored is probably at its peak, no need to hold.
Rosé
Full bodied and quite delicious. The family plowed through them!

Decent intensity, somewhat spicy, warmth and soil, medium- tannins, lacking complexity. A nice wine but not very memorable. Might have a year or two left to go.
Rosé
Delicious, fun and easy.

Salty minerality and grapefruit. Delicious.

Clariette and Rolle. Smells like Coca Cola to me. Citrus flower. And big on the palate. And kinda spritzy too.

Certified organic. Black spicy fruit. Power packed on the nose. Extremely tight on the palate. And kinda locked down.
Rosé
That smells really good. It has the grapefruit character of Tempier. That's smokingly good.

There is a lot going on with this Rose. I like it best on it's own. The appearance is clear and a lighter salmon in color with tears. The aroma is a wonderful mix of strawberry and a hint of raspberry, a little peach with floral notes of rose and spice of cinnamon. This wine is dry with medium+ acidity and alcohol, medium body, intensity and flavor. The flavors are savory with ginger, flint and raspberry.
My fiend Dianne likened this Rose to an art piece that you find interesting and that you enjoy but not so much to take home.

A private lunch (Restaurant Daalder, Amsterdam, NL): Silky and polished style, beautifully managed ripe tannins, velvety and fresh, lovely purity and precision, well integrated oak, red berries and cherries and spices, hint of cassis, harmonious, very good length. Already lovely, and has the balance to last until 2030 with ease.

Recommended by Jordan, nose expressive of kiwi, banana, melon. Juicy mouth, fresh very fruity, peach apricot, with oily texture. Very good, acceptable length, nice balance, the best bandol white ever, indeed, I live in the region. 90% clairette, 10% rolle.
