Upon opening this had a nice round Chablis expression, with ripe orchard fruit and a bit of minerality. As it warmed it almost developed a sweetness, which was not particularly welcome. My advice would be to keep at cellar temp

Faintly ripe aromatics, but this easily manages to avoid anything flabby. Mostly lean lemon and lemon with good enough weight, better length, and very good brightness from start-to-finish. While this is certainly on the simpler side for Chablis 1er Cru, it is textbook Chablis from a vintage where many others failed that metric.

Nice enough, but tonight this bottle was just a little dilute and perhaps abit less interesting than I remembered from previous bottles.

bright yellow with low to moderate depth of color. on the nose very typical chablis aromas of lemons and seashells. new barrique aromas are well integrated and mostly in the background. on the palate dry with high acids, tons of verve on the midpalate, finishes clean with low alcohol. balanced wine with very good length, excellent intensity, good complexity. wine has finesse, a very verve'y grand cru like texture, excellent expression of place. leftovers held up well the next day. Great Chablis, not the best Les Clos out there but is very GC. drink or hold 2-4.

Golden color. As opposed to other oxi bottles this evening, this is just beautiful, mature Chablis with good freshness and flavours that are not associated with apple juice and sherry. This is lean with marks of green fruits, citrus even grass/hay. There’s a lack of depth and complexity perhaps but this is agréable. Chablis tasting with CG/Hasse/Finn.

A much younger showing compared to the bottle I opened in 2017 and in need of air to open up. Deep and dark matter, spicy, salty, intense, toffee, butter notes, rich and complex - this is Clos from a generous vintage and drinking a point. There’s som bottle variation with the wines from Malandes, but when they are on, they are spectacular. Chablis tasting with CG/Hasse/Finn.

My final of 6 bottles, this 1er Cru Chablis is still showing quite nicely even at 10 yrs of age.
Lemon curd, green apple and herbal basil leaf, with some slate and minerals on the longish finish.
Nicely buttressed acidity, just getting slightly rounded. Drink through 2025+.

Pale grey in hue. Apple and peach on a nose underlined by chalky and stony minerality.

Clear cut on the palate. Very pure, linear and cool. Textbook Chablis and a good place to start for the immediate mineral feeling. Good length.

Consumed over 2 days (stored in Somm du Vin), note from day 2. Appearance: Clear, medium lemon. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with aromas of green apple, Asian pear, lime, and chamomile with hints of saline and fresh biscuits. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid, medium intensity, medium body with a pleasingly smooth mouth-feel, 13.0% abv with developing flavors green apple, Asian pear, and saline with a medium+ finish.

Balance: Excellent
Length: Excellent
Intensity: Very good
Complexity: Excellent

Overall, an excellent wine excelling in balance and complexity. Still quite youthful, likely 2-3 years from peak with 5+ years of good drinking thereafter.

1st of 12. Needed 2 hours in the glass to open up and continued to improve throughout the night. This is a full bodied, well balanced wine with quite a bit of up front tart fruit suggesting how young this is. The finish is long. My first time with this domaine and I’m impressed. Hard to find better value in burgundy, especially given the vintage and vineyard. This is still 3-5 years out from its prime and will easily drink well for 2 decades. Revisit 2025.

Oh wow. This retains every bit of quality and complexity I’ve enjoyed over the years. Briny, oyster shells, lemon, mineral, seawater. Palate a bit richer, with intense acid and big mineral texture. Long finish. This is truly great wine.

This is a vivid, medium, greenish straw colored wine. The nose does not give away very much. Across the palate I get the typical apple, pear, grapefruit, lime, and honeysuckle flavors. There is a light indication of oak on the finish with slight almond and vanilla flavors. This wine has a rich consistency with ample body. The finish is fresh with racy acidity and some chalk. There's a slight amount of astringency on the finish that tastes like some stems were included. This is a good, varietal wine.

Still delicious. Not a tart lemon bombshell like the Les Clos but very enjoyable. More on the creamy lemon with a hint of age side of things. Excellent on its own and with dinner.

Pale but vibrant yellow color. Minerals abound on the nose with lemon/lime notes. Precise and delightful on the palate, lemon, crushed seashells, hint of pepper. Rosemary notes creep in. Beautiful acidity, fabulous balance. A steely mouthfeel. Becomes brighter and shows more lemon notes with air. Finishes long, long with minerals, melons, lemons. Great wine and not even at peak. If you can wait, give it 2 to 3 more years. It will drink well for 6 to 8 years.

Great color. The nose shows fragrant aromas of orchard fruits, white flowers, minerals, sea spray and some lactic creaminess. This is medium full bodied on the palate with excellent concentration and real class. The long finish features a strong mineral element and serious extract. Needs four or five years to show its best...

Solid wine. Fresh and lively lemon juice and citrus zest notes. Some travertine peeks through, but this is just starting its journey. Though certainly accessible now, it needs at least a handful of years to develop more complexity and layered depth. Currently, it's primary and linear, with a bit of reduction and wood lingering, albeit still quite refreshing.

Sealed with DIAM 10; so, you can let your bottles chill on their sides for a bit without biting your nails over potential premox issues. Ideally, hold until at least after 2026+ (shoot for 2030 if you're patient).

Acidic citrus flavors, bitter grapefruit, yellow apples, pears, intensely mineral with an almost metallic touch to it, crisp acidity, just a hint of oak adding some nut flavors, sleek body and average length. Overall a tart and mineral Chablis, but not very complex for a 1er Cru. I'd give it an additional 2-3 years to develop more flavors. Would not have guessed it is from the hot 2018 vintage; tasted much racier than I expected. Diam10 closure. - 89 points

Superb stuff
P&P
Initially, dried lemons and pronounced minerality. As it warms up, lots of white flower aromas. Round mouthfeel with a lightning bolt of acidity. Subtle new oak. Lots of minerality on the palate. Wine is much more interesting and complex on the palate than the nose. Although I wouldn't describe this as a fat wine, it's definitely richer than it is lean or precise.
Truly outstandings length. This really is an excellent Chablis GC. Drink now or over the next 5 years

Left 2/3 empty bottle in fridge under cork and reopened today (2 weeks later):
Dried lemons and mushrooms and candied lemons on the nose. Still aromatically quite intense, especially the candied notes
The texture is a little thinner but still very enjoyable
I actually think this wine can be much more long lived than I initially assumed

Dinner at San Shu Gong (San Shu Gong, Geylang, Singapore): This was very enjoyable. Not perfect, and nothing to write home about, but a bottle that went down very easily. It was no slouch in terms of sheer quality either. The nose was a nice marriage of the mineral, stone and citrus lemon aromas one normally associates with Chablis in general alongside riper tropical fruit smells that one sometimes gets from Les Clos. The only thing that threw me off was the overly woody overtone at the fringes of the bouquet, with tons of sweet oak rather distracting from the nicer elements of the nose. That apart, it was quite attractive. The palate was round and full, and very Les Clos in the way it showed a lovely weight, nicely counterbalanced by a spine of bracing acidity. Here, I got a white fruited attack moving into a nice lemon and blood-orange mid plate, and then a lovely line of minerality that came to the fore on the finish along with some of that new oak that was so pronounced on the nose. I really liked the freshness and cut on the wine. Not the most complex Les Clos out there, and there was always that oaky shadow to contend with, but this was all-in-all a really nice wine. While drinking well now, it should improve with a few years in the bottle - unless the fruit starts sinking under the oak.

Predominantly mineral and nutty palate, soaked apples and pears palate following by gentle acidity and creamy finish of good length. Complex and balanced, still fresh. This was an odd experience. The aromatics seem simultaneously over and underripe, with both pineapple and melon as well as a grassy note. The palate is also hollow in the middle. This isn't flawed or undrinkable, but it just isn't very good.

Wonderful Chablis, so wonderful that I am now searching for a place to buy more (not for the thieves where I bought it from).

Clear bright pale yellow color. Love it 👏

Light body. Medium acidity. Mineral and crispy. Very enjoyable & rewarding. long sweet sour ending 👏

Beautifully aromatic, lavender, citrus, grass.

Palate: omplex, rich yet not too intense or rough. Citrus, lemon, oranges, lime, pineapple, kiwi, mango, apple, melon, apricot, honey, salt, minerals.

Love it. Will definitely buy more.

Cheers 🥂

Eðalklúbburinn í Búrgundarhéraðinu.; 5/21/2023-5/27/2023 (Búrgundarhéraðið.): Að koma á eftir Fourchome víninu og standa uppi í hárinu á því var ekki auðvelt verkefni. Les Clos Grand Cru vínið gerði það samt með glæsibrag.
Í nefi mjög opið. Dökkir tónar. Vanilla, möndlur, amaretto, koníak. Samt allt mjög ferskt. í lokin mátti greina núggat og súkkulaði eins og í víninu á undan.
Svipaðir tónar komu svo fram á tungunni. Möndlur, mikill ferskleiki, súkkulaði og núggat. Mjög flott jafnvægi. Virkilega gott vín.
