Similar to what Kistler used to be when Steven Kistler owned the vineyard.

Enjoyable but also a little muted compared to the Sweetwaters I've had in the past.

Clear light straw, lemon curd, some vanilla, peach in the nose, with a bright fresh presentation with some roundness and a long finish. Very nicely made

Bought this wine from Rochioli on release. Kept it in my cellar the whole time and opened it today based on CT's suggested consume date. I think this wine has a year or two left to go. I liked it. Maybe it isn't as vibrant as 3-4 years ago, but still not bad.

Spectacular wine! In a perfect spot right now. This is what great Chardonnay is supposed to taste like. Wow!

Straw colored. 14.5% ABV. Beautiful nose of stone fruits, vanilla and honeysuckle. Full bodied with perfect acidity. Incredibly lush and rich. Pear, vanilla creme brulee, pineapple and minerals on the palate. The finish is long and seamless. Glorious California Chardonnay that is aging brilliantly. Best over the next 2-3 years.

Boo. I bought four of these from Domaine and three have been poxed. I know there's no way to sort for that, but it's disappointing anyway.

My wife and I opened a bottle of this tonight to pair with a grilled petrale sole, pasta and a green salad with vinaigrette. It went perfectly. Easy on the palate. Lots of citrus and mild acidity. A bit of oak, but barely distinguishable. It was fine from the start (without decanting) and opened up a bit after about ten minutes in the glass. A very enjoyable wine that should be good for another 2-4 years, but my six pack won’t last that long. While it is not in the same league as Aubert, Kistler, Peter Michael, etc., it is a terrific wine that will be enjoyable with nearly any fish or fowl. I’d give it an easy 92 - maybe a bit higher in a year or so as it levels out.

Agreed. So smooth. I don't regret opening it (it's within the drinking window IMHO) but I could have kept it in the wine fridge for at least 3 more years.

Beautifully balanced and well made Chardonnay that is concentrated with layers of stone fruit, honey, toast and peach. Wonderfully full mouth feel that has an unusually long finish. Rochioli is becoming an elite producer of Chardonnay.

My last bottle of six. The drink window said 2022. Still holding up well but glad I drank it before it starts to fade like some of my other 2015 and earlier Rochioli chards. The 4 to 6 year window seems to be best for these.

This was excellent and in a terrific drinking window. Medium golden color, no sign of age. Nose of white flower and white stone fruit with a dash of oak. On the palate, impeccably balanced with a juicy acidity, more white stone fruit and a modest dash of oak. There is a viscous, mouth coating consistency that is typical of these Rochioli SVDs. Long finish goes on for days, lingering in the mouth also due to same viscousness. Only word I won't use is fresh, which again is a word I don't use with these bottlings. But that's not what you're going for here. I often struggle with finding the sweet spot with these, as they need some time in bottle to round out what can be a little angular when younger. But just as often as I hit perfection in drinking window I feel like I might have waited a bit too long. As such, I've recently taken the tact that sooner is often better, same calculation I make when deciding when it's time to leave a party. Drink with confidence, but no hurry either.

First bottle from a batch purchased at the property ion Sonoma this Summer. Had not had a Rochioli Chardonnay in some time. Chilled, PnP, with casual dinner.

Medium/light gold color. Nose showing lemongrass, lees, citrus. Palate of lemon, vanilla, orchard fruits, flint. Smooth palate, medium finish.

Very good showing, crisp and young at this point. Will pair well with a variety of foods or on its own. Not to big/buttery, featuring fruit more than oak.

PnP. As the last, this bottle was very mildly cloudy. no flaws. Very aromatic with citrus, floral, and lemon. Silky texture showing lemon, citrus, spice, floral and mild savory notes. Medium oak on the body and finish. Good acidity to balance out the wine. Really good now, but no hurry to open.

It’s hard to find a better Chardonnay than this one – obtained from a collector in Vancouver. (Many thanks!)

Citrus-kissed saltiness lies at the center of this incredibly delicious, deliriously good wine.

Beautifully crisp, with just the right amount of oak - it lingers in stony minerality & a freshness of apricot.

Memorable from first sip to last – distinctly rich but graceful… finishes with superb grip.

A real beauty from old time Sonoma royalty... tastes like a cross between French Burgundy finesse and CA in-your-face flavors. A lovely lunch wine you can proudly serve to anyone. Bravo!

Friendsgiving Dinner (Schur House - Riverwoods IL): Walkaround tasting. Long in the tooth, but this was also a bit oaky and high octane, which made it seem even more lackluster and charmless.

looking at tasting notes, there seems to be a lot of variation. My bottle was very cloudy as as been noted in some notes. Beautiful aromas with citrus, floral, and lemon. Silky texture showing lemon, citrus, spice, floral and some e savory notes. Medium oak on the body and finish. Good acidity to balance out the wine. Good now, but may improve with another few years.

An acidic version of a chardonnay which is built to age. I get apricot, apple and some cedar wood on the nose. In mouth the wine is very restrained with slight crisp apple, and an eye cringing acidic backbone that cries "why did you open me". Hold for 3-5 years at least as this has the gusto to improve.

This is an outstanding chardonnay approaching the same complexity and quality of Aubert single vineyard wines. Tropical fruit with additional notes of citrus and lemon curd on the finish. Very expressive and delicious. VERY well made.

At home at dinner (crab Genovese) with Sophia. Bright and clean. Good legs, closely spaced. Very pretty fruit in the nose. Apples, banana, butter. Spearmint? Lively in the mouth, with good acidity. Not fat like so many Chardonnays that have undergone malolactic fermentation. Long finish, goes on and on. 5-12-17-7: 91/100.

Bottle in excellent condition with less than 1 cm of ullage. Light golden color. Bouquet of CA Chardonnay at its best. citrus fruit, just enough wood tones. Unlike the superb Aubert chardonnays, this tries to be nothing else but an in your face CA chardonnay. Excellent to outstanding.
