Introduction
Short visit to Birmingham with Cilantro; delighted to have him in our home
Flight 1 - The apperatifs (1 note)
Truffle pate, black pepper pate and an Italian blue triple cream
Flight 2 - Ready for the Main Event (1 note)
The Pavie Decesse had been decanted for 4 hours and was really quite nice. Plenty of gusto for the insalata Capriese and moving in to the main course
Flight 3 - Prime Ribeye and Beautiful White Asparagas (1 note)
First grilling in a while, and more medium than intended. Nevertheless, the Pavie Decesse was dancing in the glass and thoroughly enjoyable. The 1982 Lynch Bage was decanted and immediately poured. Just simply terrific, in fact at its peak
Flight 4 - Lovely Strawberries with a touch of Pere William (1 note)
The Late Harvest was the perfect to a lovely evening.
fresh and clean on the palatte, not cloying. Complex fruit with some citrus, in perfect balance. Unctioius, more refined and integrated than last tasting. Unfortunately, this is not widely available and was essentially a private bottling
Closing
Lovely evening, catching up and making plans for the furture. Only thing lacking were prescient fortune-cookies at the end of the meal. Who knows what the future will bring
