Double Blind at My House

Introduction

Great tasting and really shocked at the L'Adventure as I have sampled the 05 and liked it but didn't love it like the 04. It was wine of the night. Anitica was a rockstar and one of the best Pinots in a while. Great times and lots of laughs as always.

Flight 1 (5 notes)

Red
2008 Antica Terra Pinot Noir Botanica USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
94 points
Light in color. Exotic nose of floral, dust, earth, cranberry and smoke. Complex wine with a medium plus finish. Improved with some time and this has a decade plus of enjoyment.
Red
2004 L'Aventure Estate Cuvée USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles
95 points
Wonderful wine with blueberries, minerals, blackberries, violets and coffee beans. Concentrated wine and balanced. Long finish and no flaws on this wine.

Drinking really well right now! Forest floor, cassis, blueberries and minerals. Medium finish and balanced. Really nice acidity to boot. Drink now.
Red
2007 Quivet Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Kenefick Ranch USA, California, Napa Valley
90 points
Improved some over the course of three hours. Raspberry, heavy spices and minerals. Heat on the nose and palate that went away a bit over time. Medium finish. Not my style.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2006 King Estate Pinot Gris Vin Glacé USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley
92 points
A nice wine with appricots, minerals and peaches. Rich and thick and tasty. Drink now.
