Tooth coating, firm tannin but not aggressive. Juicy dark fruit trying to burst through but will need some time.

Voluptuous, round and full bodied. Firm, mouth filling tannin but has lovely fruit. Powerful and substantial blackcurrant flavour.

Earthy, savoury, tomato, cherry, structured and powerful. More of a bruiser than an elegant wine.

Fruit and plenty of it but lacks any complexity. Good, simple drinking with satisfying acidity.

Much better with riper fruit. Pomelo, lemon with steely acidity. A touch hot (14.5%) on the bitter finish.

Ripe, dark and red fruit nose. Bitter chocolate with soft but powerful tannin. Full bodied, very ripe palate and fresh acidity. Holds the 14% with ease.

Very good wine, refined but powerful. Huge, teeth coating tannins but very silky. Blockbuster dark fruit with blackberries, blackcurrant layered with tobacco and lashings of oak. Still needs another decade.

Sour, earthy nose. Huge tannins and blockbuster fruit. There's some development but plenty more to come. Tough to broach now and would leave another decade.

Well evolved already, sour cherry and leather. Tannins are well integrated and the lightness of this wine suggests there is little to be gained from leaving it longer.

Fuller, fruitier nose with a more appealing palate than 2005. Juicy, crisp cranberry, raspberry and blackcurrant. Firm tannins just starting along their path of integration. Long, elegant finish and a fine future ahead.

Earthy nose, powerful but with little elegance. Aggressive tannin and the wine is harsh and unapproachable. This may come together with time but is painful at the moment.

7 years lees ageing gives a rich nose backed by apples. Green apple and lees palate with a full body.

Slightly yeasty on the nose but palate is bready and appley. Not too bad for zero dosage and is reasonably balanced.

Garnet colour just fading. Evolved nose. Tannic, lacking fruit but not showing any development other than a touch of tobacco on the finish.

Light nose but very fresh and clean.. Good acidity with pears and sweet brioche flavours coming to the fore and comes alive on the fresh finish.

Simple and uncomplicated but well made fizz.

Very good, rich and ripe. Well balanced with good weight and density. Crisp acidity and holds interest through the mid-palate to the end of a refined finish.

Robust red fruit with a bitter finish. Not very subtle!

Delicious fragrant nose, lightly elegant palate, stone fruit and a splash of florality. Could do with a touch more acidity but this is delicate and appealing.

Superb. A wonderful example of how ripe, fresh, rich and exciting Zibibo can be. Apricot, honey in abundance with Seville orange like acidity. It has a wonderfully rich texture wrapped around the long marmalade finish.

Fragrant and perfumed nose with a powerfully structured palate. Tannins are firm but not too obtrusive and give the fruit a chance to come through. There's some elegance that should become more apparent with time.

Perfumed nose, palate is tannic and tough but lacks the fruit to power through and fades quickly.

Riper fruit and less tannin although there's still plenty in there to give support and is much more integrated silky. Blackcurrant, black cherry and ripe plum. Long, structured finish.

Smooth, firm structured tannins framing the full fruit profile that is dark and brooding. Powerful wine that should have a long future.

Very pleasant, balanced, creamy bright fruit with firm weight. An insistent finish that displays elegance and finesse.

Striking nose reminiscent of a Clare Valley Riesling. Lime, chalk and a pleasant rubber character. Well balanced palate, elegant, weighty and serious. Long flinty finish full of minerality.

The nose is almost like a Clare Valley Riesling, full of lime, chalk and tension but with a veneer of light smoke. Fascinating palate right from the first sip with a profusion of meadow flowers and ripe fruits with a rich vein of honey and just edging into maturity. There's a remarkable richness to this wine that apparently doesn't see any oak ageing or undergo any malo, but perhaps that explains the clean and focussed acidity that balances the wine beautifully. Elegant whilst retaining an electrifying power that suggests there is more to come.

Fruity, juicy, velvety light tannins. Decent effort.

Powerful nose, rich, ripe and dark fruit. Light tannin and high acidity. Big and powerful, huge weight but a bit sluggish.

Powerful nose with an even bigger palate. Touch tannins and big fruit with very apparent alcohol. This is a big wine that will always be obvious and struggle to reach elegance.

Playful nose with an elusive quality. Simple flavours that are quite extracted with a non-existent finish. Disappointing.

Ripe, rich red fruit supported by blackberry. Fair tannins with crunchy acidity and a sympathetic oak treatment balances the wine well. Young and needs time but is way overpriced at £36

Delicate, transparent colour belies the intense nose. The palate is sheer elegance, it's light but with complexity and has an underlying tension and depth. Constantly evolving through the mid palate and on to the delicious finish.

Wow, what a nose, beguiling, floral, red fruit and a whiff of oak. Firm tannin wrapped around the light but insistent fruit, strawberry, vanilla and a splash of balsamic. Needs more time of course but this is a truly great wine.

Very pretty nose with an elegant, refined floral character. Developing well and tannins are softening and moulding into the wine. Fine tobacco character and a long finish but remains powerful rather than elegant.

Chewy! This is an assault on my palate with brutish force. This could have potential but right now I can't get past those tannins.

Developing nose, nuanced and elegant. Palate is weighty yet light, powerful but elegant. Integrated and balanced already but this has a long future ahead. Superb
