Nose of lemon peel, sharp pears, apples, honey with mirrored flavor profile also offering cut grass with a crisp and cleansing finish. Well balanced and laden with plenty of body.

Bright red fruit & sweet jammy aromatics. Tarry on the flabby palate, saturated dusky fruit, notes of soot flavors. Utterly disjointed.

Aromas of crushed gravel, cherry, cigar box and white pepper. Rich cherry, terra cotta, pine and tobacco on the back end. Polished acids with plenty of back bone and a lively finish.

Black and red fruit, smoke and earthly aromatics. Bigger than the '09, this was quite plush with flavors of tundra, plums, cherry, saline with great acidity to carry it through to the lengthy finish. Very polished with fine tannins.

Light on it's feet offering bright aromas and flavors of silt, sharp cherry and currants. Light in body, easy drinking with a dry finish.

Brandied nose with soil, forest floor & mushrooms. Bright cranberry, earth, cherry, gooseberry, truffles and slate flavors. Powerful, polished and coating with a long supple finish.
Drink 2013-2020+

Big and chalky in the nose along with mint and cherry. Likewise on the palate with bold chewy-cherry, loamy earth and tobacco. Effortless on the finish.

Far superior to it's infant ('09) new release. A bit weak and on the watery side for my palate. Pleasant, just underwhelming.

Difficult to assess beyond aroma and flavor of menthol. Faded fruit, leather and lacks substance. This doesn't appear to have improved with bottle age, but appreciate trying next to the '09.

Nose of sulfur, tobacco and port. Plum, smoke, earth and spice. A bit light in weight, but hearty enough to hold up to robust foods.

Wet brick, cigar smoke, aniseed and cherry aromatics. Laden with minerality of wet cement, river rock and silt. Cherry and earth on the sleek hind palate with 60+ seconds on the winding finsh. Aged beautifully. Drink now-2030?

A touch of a fortified nose & sulfur which blew off after 15-30 minutes to reveal soil, dried stone fruit and campfire wood. Robust on the palate with crushed rocks, cigar, earthy dried cherries and a long glossy finish. This kept improving over the course of the tasting.
