Flight 1 (6 notes)

White
2011 P. Dubreuil-Fontaine Père & Fils Bourgogne Blanc France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Medium yellow. Toasty nose. Open, ripe pineapple and yellow apple, some cinnamon, and not too much wood. Dry finish. Pleasant surprise.
White
2011 Michel Colin-Deléger et Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Medium yellow. Aromatics all oak and sulfur now. Lush entry, woody base. Caramel and citrus. Nice feel on entry, good acidity, but harsh, almost tannic finish. I don't care for the balance here.
Red
2010 Domaine Roulot Bourgogne France, Burgundy, Bourgogne
Light ruby. Sweaty, briary nose. Light to medium weight. Baked cherry, cranberry acidity. Very Cote de Beaune style. Thin finish.
Red
2010 Domaine Pierre Guillemot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Serpentières France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
Light at center. Fragrant and floral. Piquant, lively, and light. Very Savigny in its brambly bite, but elegant with soil-infused finish. Very good.

Red
2010 Domaine des Croix Beaune France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Beaune
Medium center. Green tones. Medium weight, lots of earth. Smooth, complex, minty, some chocolate. Tannic, good length. A very good AC Beaune, less fruit forward than I recall the 2009 being.
Red
2010 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru
Light center, pale edge. Cool green aromatics. Black fruit, properly light bodied. Pleasingly pure and limpid with a hint of smoke. Excellent acidity if not great length.
