Flight 1 (1 note)

Red
1993 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
88 points
Just opaque, not much age.
Still fruity on the nose, with animal notes, pleasant and inviting.
Delicious, soft tannins, cooked fruit, on the cusp.

Flight 2 (1 note)

Red
1998 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
92 points
Quite dense and youthful.
A reluctant nose, there's an attractive perfume including tobacco.
Leathery fruit, soft tannins, warm in the mid palate, pretty long - maybe wait to open the next in 5 - 10 years.

Flight 3 (1 note)

Red
1997 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
89 points
Just opaque with not much age.
A hesitant nose, a hint of fruit with animal notes, pleasant.
Good balance, lovely complexity in the mid palate, a wine for meditation.

Flight 4 (1 note)

Red
1999 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

Dense and older looking than the 98.
Attractive nose, fruit and a hint of oak.
A beautiful wine with plenty of life, plenty of tannin, a lovely mid palate and great length.

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2001 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
91 points
Not much age, dark and intense.
Vanilla fragrance with a hint of animal earthiness.
Very fruity, tarry, very soft tannins, still youthful.

Red
2002 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien
92 points
A bit of age, dark and intense.
Vanilla, some animal notes, dark fruit.
Fruity and tannic, good balance, drinking nicely, very long.

Flight 7 (1 note)

Red
2004 Château Langoa Barton France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien

Intensely dark, very little age.
Eventually the nose is rewarded with some fruit. Very fruity in the mouth, exceedingly tannic, far from its peak, very long.
