Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of Ribena berries, blackcurrant, and some green herbaceousness. The herbaceousness intensity increased with more air and as the wine warmed up a little. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium velvety tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of Ribena berries, blackcurrant, some raisins, and green herbaceousness.
Good quality organic wine. Initially I thought it was some sort of lighter style Amarone or Ripasso, but as the herbaceousness set in later on, it was unmistakably a cooler climate Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasted blind. Popped and slow-oxed in bottle for 30 minutes.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is medium+ intensity, with an initial slight whiff of barnyard that blew off, revealing aromas of sweet peaty earth and red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, bright high acidity, medium+ alcohol. Drying medium tannins but somehow still producing a wonderfully silky mouthfeel. Medium+ body. Pronounced flavor intensity, with flavours of sweet peaty earth and sour red cherries. Red fruit intensity was strong, and there was a sense of great depth, but at this point of time this wine was only showing a more austere face. Long finish.
Very good quality traditional style Brunello. Too young to drink and assess now. However, it was still a joy to have tasted this. The future is bright. Give this another 8-10 years.
As Biondi Santi himself once said: "The characteristic of Brunello is its longevity. Nature is capable of creating beautiful things—you just have to wait."

Nose is of pronounced intensity, with a smell of varnish and something synthetic. Ugh.
On the palate, dry, low acidity, high alcohol, medium tannins, full body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of salty minerality, chocolate, sweet licorice, and dried fruit that is dying off. Some oxidative notes. Short finish.
There was something flawed about this bottle of mine. Horrible nose, but interestingly still showing some nice flavours on the palate though.

Tasted blind. Slow-oxed in bottle for about an hour before drinking. Screw-cap bottle.

On the palate, dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol, medium- tannins, medium- body. Medium- flavor intensity, with flavours of mild toasted oak, red cherry, and redcurrant. Simple and straightforward. Medium- finish.
I guessed a Marlborough Pinot Noir.
Acceptable quality. Well made but lacking in concentration and richness. Drink up.

Tasted blind. Decanted for about an hour before poured back into bottle and served.

Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with a complex bouquet of floral scents, tobacco, sweet earth, ripe blackberries and blackcurrant. Just a slight hint of greenish herbs. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol, velvety high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavor intensity, with flavours of tobacco, sweet earth, ripe blackberries and blackcurrant, licorice, and spice. Long finish.
Quite fragrant, complex, and aged well. This had all of us guessing an aged Left Bank Bordeaux. Hahaha.
Very good quality Amarone. Peak drinking now. Drink up.

Tasted blind. Poured into decanter and aired for 3 hours while kept chilled.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, dark purplish-ruby colour. Long legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of sweet vanilla oak, blackberries, ripe dark plums, black cherries, sweet earth, black pepper spice. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, high alcohol, very smooth mouth-coating high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavor intensity, with flavours of sweet vanilla oak, blackberries, ripe dark plums, black cherries, sweet earth, black pepper spice, and licorice. Long finish. Full throttle intensity overall, but still manages to find a nice balance.
Undoubtedly an Aussie Shiraz, I was guessing probably McLaren Vale.
Very good quality Shiraz. This banishes all my previous bad experiences with The Dead Arm. This kind of reminded me a bit of the Torbreck RunRig.
Drink now with extended decant, or give it another 5-8 years of aging.

Tasted blind. From a 187ml bottle that sadly was consumed so fast, because this was oh so good.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, amber colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with wonderful aromas of sweet smoky meat - Bak Kwa! Also luo han guo, concentrated strawberry, and spice. Developing.
On the palate, sweet and balanced off with high acidity, totally not cloying at all. Medium- alcohol (10.5%). Full body. Pronounced flavor intensity, with flavours of bak kwa, luo han guo, concentrated strawberries, stewed cranberries, ultra-ripe cherries...you get the drift. Like some opulent candy sweet that melts in the mouth of a kid, with the sinful adult addition of smoke and meat. Long finish.
Very good quality sweet wine. Good even on its own. Organic wine.
