Wednesday Dinner
White - Sparkling
2002 Louis Roederer Champagne Cristal Brut
Enjoyed by all. Showed a bit reserved versus it's normal profile.

White - Sparkling
1976 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut
A beautiful aged CdC. This was fantastic.
White
2007 Etienne Sauzet Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet
Drank well, but would have benefitted from more air. Suggest 2-3 hour decant next time. No signs of pox.
White
1992 Domaine Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet
A beautiful wine that's in a great space right now. The 92 drinks much better than its perceived vintage status.
White
2011 Domaine Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes
Like a bottle last year, this drank well for a youngster. Opened up well over two hours. This is a nice wine.
White
2003 Domaine d'Auvenay (Lalou Bize-Leroy) Auxey-Duresses Blanc
This bottle was in great shape, drank fine, but just didn't excite me.
Red
1995 Jean-Jacques Confuron Romanée St. Vivant
This bottle outperformed. Lovely and quite pleasant. Perfect with a rabbit dish.
Red
1995 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Bonnes Mares
A good bottle of 95, but short of the greatness that this vintage can achieve.
Red
2004 Domaine G. Roumier / Christophe Roumier Bonnes Mares
The green meanies were at the forefront with this bottle. Dill, green... Straight up it wasn't too enjoyable, but with food it was passable.

Thursday Dinner (Partial List)
White - Sparkling
1976 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon
A nice side by side of 76 and 66 DP. Both were great. Initially the table was split, but in the end the depth of the 66 prevailed and it was preferred.
White - Sparkling
1966 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon
A nice side by side of 76 and 66 DP. Both were great. Initially the table was split, but in the end the depth of the 66 prevailed and it was preferred.
White - Sparkling
1979 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut
My first 79 CdC. Drank very nicely. A touch tired at the margin, but not a drop was left in anyone's glass.
White
2008 Louis Carillon Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet
A brilliant wine that's drinking amazingly well given its youth. Thrilled to own this.
White
2008 Domaine Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet
A nice bottle, but it was simply smoked by the 08 Carillon BBM drunk side by side.
Red
1996 Domaine Leroy Richebourg
A very nice bottle. Performed as expected but didn't hit it out if the park.
Red
1999 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Richebourg
Deep, brooding. Will be a stud. Worth opening if you have a bunch, but hang on if you only have a few.
Red
1989 Bodegas Vega-Sicilia Ribera del Duero Único
The 89 is a terrific Unico, and this bottle was great.

Friday Lunch
White
1999 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre
Drank beautifully over a leisurely lunch. Even more expressive than previous bottles.
Red
2004 La Rioja Alta Rioja Gran Reserva 904
From a restaurant list. Drank very well, and is a very nice value.
Flight 4 (19 notes)
Friday Dinner
White - Sparkling
1975 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Oenothèque
The 69 and 75 Oeno's side by side were both perfection. But for me the 69 is on a different planet.

White
2011 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Clos des Bouchères
Stunning as always. Exotic and seductive. A standout in any crowd.
White
2009 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils
Drunk the 09 and 10 side by side. The 2010 started slow, but simply grew and grew in the glass. I really liked it, and would seek it out. The 09 was good, but lacked sophistication and in the end didn't impress like the 2010.

2010 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils
Drunk the 09 and 10 side by side. The 2010 started slow, but simply grew and grew in the glass. I really liked it, and would seek it out. The 09 was good, but lacked sophistication and in the end didn't impress like the 2010.
White
2009 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet
Very good, and I kept coming back to this wine over the night.
Red
1966 Château Latour Grand Vin
I've had perfect ex-chateau bottles of this, and it can be a real stunner. For me, this bottle was a bit weak, but others really liked it. Maybe it was me.

Red
1983 Château Margaux
Generally a killer wine for me. This bottle was good, but didn't hit the greatness that I've come to expect.
Red
1996 Domaine Leroy Romanée St. Vivant
A terrific wine, that was really good. Deep, dark, intoxicating.
Red
1996 Domaine Leroy Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Vignerondes
This was a very interesting bottle, that kind of appealed to the intellect more than the hedonist. I thought we might lose one diner, and he was so into this wine it almost acted as a black hole and sucked him into the glass. Would like to try it again, and I haven't had this before.
Red
1996 Domaine Leroy Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts
A few of us thought this lightly corked, and I couldn't get any joy.
Red
1999 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant
A vertical of 99,00,01,02,03. The 99 was the class of the quintet and consensus #1. While they will last forever, the 99's are beginning to show well. The 00 was a slight surprise on the upside, and was very beguiling. The 01 under-performed. The 02 was great and consensus #2. Beautiful and balanced as always. The 03 was fine, just not memorable. Have had two 03 RSV's this summer, and neither showed the stereo-type vintage characteristics. Rock solid burgs if not rock stars.
