Introduction
Seven of us gathered at my place to drink some great Bordeaux wines!
Flight 1 (9 notes)
White
2000 Kistler Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard
91 points
Really solid overall. Slight oxidation but doesn't distract the oak, lemon oil, vanilla and pear. Medium plus finish. Drink now.
Red
1996 Château Cos d'Estournel
91 points
A little bit thin and green up front. 20 minutes later much better with walnuts, floral, red fruits and earth. Medium finish.
Red
2006 Château d'Issan
91 points
Still young with tons of dark fruits. Coffee beans, blueberries, blackberries and spices. Medium plus finish. Drink now to 2020.
Red
2002 Château Palmer
93 points
Excellent showing. Pop and pour. Very elegant with minerals, mushrooms, raspberries and earth. Medium plus finish and well rounded wine.
Red
2000 Château Smith Haut Lafitte
92 points
Nuts, raspberries, earth and dust. Medium finish. Needs more cellar time.

Red
2005 Château La Providence

Very modern and reminds me of the Barnett Merlot from the same vintage. Plums, cherry, menthol, oak, vanilla and pepper. Medium to long and complex wine. Will improve with more age.

Red
2005 Château Cos d'Estournel
94 points
Very modern but very good. Cherry, spices, oak, vanilla and dark fruits. Long finish and super complex wine. Should improve with some age but showing well with an hour plus decant. Groups wine of the night.

White - Sweet/Dessert
1990 Château de Fargues
94 points
Wow was this good and still has plenty of life left. Rich with apricots, peach cobbler, spices and minerals. Good acidity and long finish. Thanks Jason for bringing this.
