Flight 1 (1 note)

White
2004 Domaine Jean-Marc Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
90 points
Served blind - and guessed as chassagne 2004; is has the slighly rustic character, that is the tell-tale, but overall a very decent white burgundy from af wonderful year. Quite elegant, medium body, round and friendly. Mature, but no signs of premox. #Peter

White
2014 Domaine Georges Vernay Condrieu Coteau de Vernon France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Condrieu
95 points
Fresh and vibrant, yet lush and full bodied with minerals, exotic fruit and an incredible balance. This is very young, there is more to come, and there is a long life ahead, is my guess, but it is no sin pop a bottle, if you have one more... @Peter
White
2005 Domaine Georges Vernay Condrieu Coteau de Vernon France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Condrieu
NR as I am uncertain; this is my no means gone, but you do feel a vintage, that is more for the reds than for the white; it is quite spicy, rustic, very full bodied, very dry indeed, more like an old white Hermitage... @Peter

Flight 3 (1 note)

White
1999 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
95 points
Wonderful wine - and lovely to see it again. It has certainly survived the trip from the States; here is both body, a vibrant minerality, a solid fruit, complexity and length. No signs of aging, but the drinking window is open.
When Corton is good, it is out of this world. @Peter

Flight 4 (3 notes)

Red
2003 Château Rayas Côtes du Rhône Château de Fonsalette Reserve France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône
Might have been a semi-off bottle, as this showed some signs of their vintage (as other Reynaud 2003 wines have); somewhat disjointed with notes of prunes and stewed, allthough still lively fruit.
Red
2004 Château Rayas Côtes du Rhône Château de Fonsalette Reserve France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône
flawed
corked!
Red
2005 Domaine du Mas Blanc (Docteur Parcé) Collioure France, Languedoc Roussillon, Roussillon, Collioure
85 points
Rustic & simple, a fair country wine, nothing more, nothing less - had no place in the nights line up, really...

Flight 5 (1 note)

Red
2001 Tulocay Pinot Noir Haynes Vineyard USA, California, Napa Valley
93 points
I was guessing Burgundy, as this is extremely elegant, in harmony and balance; no signs of aging, just beautiful & singing pinot fruit. A first for me, and I was quite impressed.

Flight 6 (2 notes)

Red
2003 Clusel-Roch Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie
93 points
Very nice result for 2003, no signs of heat what so ever; still quite young, surely, but it drinks smoothly and is dense, concentrated with telltale notes of olives and bacon and loads of black fruit. Great Côte-Rôtie, will live on...
Red
1997 Rene Rostaing Côte-Rôtie Cuvée Classique France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie
92 points
In a perfect spot; mature, but not in any sense aging or over the hill, an archtypical Côte-Rôtie with loads of smoked meat, minerals, butchers floor and blood. Wine me up!

Flight 7 (1 note)

Red
1995 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
94 points
Third or fourth time tasting this, and the last couple of times has been great; this seems to have finally come around as almost a Beaucastel of old; rich, broad, sauvage, yet here in the1995 still a firm core and a mineral note, that I like. Will keep, but it is finally open for business.

Flight 8 (1 note)

Red
2001 Giuseppe E Figlio Mascarello Barolo Monprivato Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
93 points
A very elegant version of Barolo, just approaching maturity with tannins still intact, but also a light, almost Pinot-like fruit taking over the scene; you feel the power within, but one is charmed with the elegance

Flight 9 (2 notes)

Red
1986 Dunn Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley USA, California, Napa Valley
95 points
I adore this producer, and this wine was no exception. It is mature (in no way declining) and complete with a spine of cool, concentrated Cab and an broader, more spicy and sweet profile. This is world class wine, hands down.
Red
1988 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
93 points
Mature, but not declining; very elegant and well balanced, real, live fruit, tobacco, cigarbox et al; 1988 remains a classic vintage, overlooked, but just a point, if you love the Bordeaux of old.

Flight 10 (1 note)

Red
2000 Robert Michel Cornas Cuvée des Coteaux France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas
91 points
I have had mixed experiences with this cuvée, but this one - from a somewhat weaker vintage - shows full maturity and great typicity with both iodine and blood; the Michel wines are less nervoux and broader than Clapes wine, this one is no exeption, but a very nice glass it is.
