What a great pleasure to taste this wine again 8 years later! I ended my previous note with “will improve the next 3 – 5 years.” Well, it did for 8 years :-)! And although fully mature now, the wine is not tired yet! In the bouquet beautiful dark and red berries and a good dose of well integrated oak. On the palate red and dark berries, chocolate, sweet spices, good herbs, vanilla, earth, autumn impressions, beautiful acidity and round tannin with still a lovely bite. A truly great pleasure now. Drink over the next 2 or 3 years for maximum pleasure.

In the bouquet some barnyard, leather, autumn, animals and slightly organic flavors. On the palate chocolate, firm acidity, autumn flavors, slightly drying and still a bit sticky tannin, but overall the wine seems to be a bit past its prime. Still a pleasure to drink, but don't wait for more. Drink up! 88 for now, but it will only go down.

Beautiful bouquet with dark forest fruits, herbs, autumn impressions, leather, tobacco and tea. On the palate red fruits, firm acidity, cheese, rose hips, elegance, but also tannin with still some power. Firm wine with still a future of a few years.

The bouquet is quit mature and shows secondary and some tertiary flavors. A bit organic at first, parsley, chocolate and celery. On the palate the same developed flavors; parsley, chocolate, vanilla, a bit salty minerals, still some dark fruits in the distance. There is firm acidity and tannin with still a firm bite. The wine is very mature and a bit past its peak, but it is still full bodied and not lean at all. No score.

Beautiful bouquet with blackberries, clove, some sweet spices, some herbs and chocolate. Elegant bouquet! On the palate elegant as well with beautifully fresh acidity, herbs and spices, chocolate, some licorice, a touch of sweetness and juicy tannin with still a good bite. A mouth full of harmonious wine which is perfectly ready now and also has some future.

Beautiful and complex bouquet with dark berries like black currants and blackberries, cocoa, cigar, autumn impressions and rustic barnyard flavors. On the palate juicy red and dark berries, chocolate, leather, dried fruits, beautiful acidity and soft and melted tannin which is slightly drying. Overall a beautiful, silky textured and elegant wine. A mouth full of mature and great wine. Imho it is at its peak now.

Fairly transparent garnet red. In the bouquet dark berries and cherries, chocolate, roses and some salty minerals. On the palate juicy acidity, some chocolate, autumn impressions and well integrated tannin. The wine is perfectly ready now and no hurry at all. A textbook example of a harmonious, classical made wine with great freshness. 93 – 94

Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, violets, tobacco, cedar and luxurious oak. On the palate cocoa, red and dark berries, autumn impressions, thyme, lavender, cigar, chocolate, beautiful acidity and a firm amount of good and round tannin. Beautiful wine with still plenty of future. 94 – 95

Beautiful bouquet with red and dark forest fruits, some salty minerals, luxurious oak and also some celery. On the palate dark berries, beautifully dosed oak, chocolate, good acidity and a firm dose of tannin. Tight and focused was a remark of one of the tasters, but I still wonder what will happen with the celery in approx 5 years from now. We’ll see. For tonight 93 – 94 because it is a full bodied and complex, powerful wine.

Lovely bouquet with beautiful oak, flowers, red and dark berries as well as chocolate. On the palate dark berries, laurel, licorice, some metal, earth, mint, a bit backwards, drying tannin and some nutty flavors. A bit tertiary as well?? Special and beautiful wine which I will not score…

In the bouquet coffee, toasted oak, dark forest fruits and then…… corked. If there was any doubt in the bouquet, the first sip makes it very clear. This wine is really corked. No more notes.

In the bouquet red berries and cherries and some oaky impressions. On the palate red and dark berries, vanilla, good, juicy acidity. Well balanced, elegant and nice wine with a future of several years. 87 - 89
