South Pasadena

Tasted December 10, 2016 by G.A. Parker with 239 views

Flight 1 (6 notes)

White
2011 Clément Klur Gentil de Katz France, Alsace
90 points
Mango, full and creamy in a pleasant way. To me the most balanced wine of the night and my favorite.
White - Sparkling
2011 Amélie & Cécile Buecher Vignoble des 2 lunes Crémant d'Alsace Pinot Noir Cométe France, Alsace, Crémant d'Alsace
Chalk dust, pear. Thin and lacking acidity.
White
2012 Domaine Roland Schmitt Gewurztraminer Altenberg de Bergbieten France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru
High intensity of aromas, potpourri, floral notes, herbal quality on the finish. Ned specified elderflower, similar to a saison we had recently. Interesting to taste but a bit hard/overwhelming for me to drink.
White
2014 Domaine Roland Schmitt Pinot Blanc France, Alsace
Tropical fruit, yellow apples, with an apple juice note after being in the glass for a little while. Lacking a bit of acidity for my taste but enjoyable.
White
2013 Domaine Ostertag Riesling Vignoble d'E France, Alsace
Green apple, palate a bit one noted/lacking intensity. Refreshing acidity, especially coming after the previous wines.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Domaine Allimant-Laugner Crémant d'Alsace Rosé France, Alsace, Crémant d'Alsace
Don't have formal notes for this bottle but this was enjoyed; was Ned's favorite bottle of the night.
