Flight 1 (7 notes)

White
2001 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Lemon peel and grapefruit with faint tropical hints. Moderate weight, very good length, excellent balance. Plenty of life ahead of it.
White
2012 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
91 points
Lemon custard with buttery biscuits and rich concentration. Good now, but still a little firm, I'd think this will improve in another 2-5 years.

Mostly mature black fruit behind firm and slightly bitter tannins.

1989 Domaine de Chevalier France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan

Plum, black berries, some liqueur and cigar box. Still slightly firm, but powerful with good length. Very enjoyable now, and this should easily drink well for at least a decade+.

From magnum. Fully mature black fruit with spice hints, nicely elegant but I found it slightly simple.

1990 Château Cheval Blanc France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
97 points
Intense spice driven aromatic start with ripe and dense black plum and berries. This is a wine I would want to savor over many hours and watch it unfold, but it was still fantastic for the 15 minutes I was able to keep it in my glass.

Simple and pleasant, even if slightly one dimensionally sweet.
