White
2005 Bouchard Père et Fils Corton-Charlemagne Domaine
90 points
Strong, dominating vanilla oak component that needs integration hopefully with time. Tastes of pears, caramel and cat pee. Well balanced. Refreshing acidity. Tight.
White

Apples, caramel and pear. Very well integrated oak. Nice mid palate depth and length in the finish.

Red
1986 Château Mouton Rothschild
93 points
Blackberries, black cherries and earth. Very firm tannins. Well balanced with good acidity. Built to last. Rather rustic in style. Nice complex finish. Not the best bottle I've ever had.
Red
1996 Château Lafite Rothschild
96 points
Blackberries, blackcurrant, earth and charred french oak. A medium bodied wine that is impeccably well balanced with vibrant acidity. The focus and layers of fruit and texture in the mid palate are impressive. Long complex and elegant finish that stays with you for over a minute. A beautiful wine.
Red
1996 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande

Blackcurrant, black cherries, leather, graphite and blueberries with a touch of green bell pepper. Good balance. Smooth elegant finish.
Red
2000 Château Lynch-Bages

Intoxicating nose of dark fruit and french oak. Tastes of blackberries, raspberries, black cherries, earth, leather and pencil lead. Medium bodied with excellent balance and freshness. Extremely complex in the mid palate. Poweful finish that goes on and on. This wine has a glorious life ahead of it.
Red
2000 Château Pavie
93 points
Midnight black in color. Tastes of blackberries and charred french oak. Rich and extracted. Full bodied with bright acidity. Powerful monolithic finish. Not giving up much at the point. Closed for business. Try again in a decade.
Red
1994 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select
95 points
Blackberries, blueberries and caramel. Medium bodied. Great balance with fresh acidity. Nice, long complex finish. 14.0% alcohol.
Red
2001 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select
94 points
Blueberries, blackberries, chocolate, charred oak and mocha. Good mid palate complexity. Full bodied with nice balance. Great finish. 14.9% alcohol.
Red
2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select
90 points
Blackberries, leather and earth. Rich and a touch over extracted to a point where it tastes a bit reduced. Powerful finish. Very young and closed. Quite tiring to drink. Could use a bit more acidity to freshen everything up and make it more lively on the palate. The last few times I've had this it showed much better. Off bottle perhaps. 14.9% alcohol.
