Cassis on the nose and almost some winter spices. Stewed berries on the palate and a little bit of menthol of the finish. Good structure. Could age longer. Ton of sediment though.

Green notes and Burgundy like funk on the nose. A little bit of honey/honeysuckle as well. Taste - nicely balanced. Dry but a little bit of boisterous-like complexity. A little herbs and some butter.

Nose: Very ripe/fruity cherry. Taste: Wow -- blind I would never pick this as Pinot Noir (hell, even sighted, this wine doesnt look it like Pinot -- it's thick and dark); blueberry, and pushing off-dry in terms of sweetness/ripeness.

Candidly, Im giving it something of a blended grade. It does taste good, and could be a "my first red wine" type of bottle for people not into wine. But its more like a very ripe cab or syrah (maybe even pushing a sherry) than pinot so know what you are getting into.

drank without noting, but this was actually pretty ok as opposed to undrinkable in its youth.

Nose: Lemon, flour. Taste: Bread and lemon/citrus notes with nice but not over-the-top acidity. I can get a little bit of a bitter peach note others have written about. Strong finish. Not the most subtle bubbles I've ever had... Overall this wine is well-made and just plain enjoyable to drink.

Nose: A little bit of minerality. Flour, white pepper, and other baking notes. A hint of lime leaf. Taste: Got some acid. It is really acid forward and very tart. A little bit of papaya.

Tannins have subsided since we last drank this wine. Much more raisin/prune on the front palate than before and heat has subsided greatly. A little raisin with some funk on the nose. I agree with the person below who said prunes and dry hay. Taste of raisin and current on the front palate. Some spice on the back.

Nose: Petrol. Palate: Very dry, tart and almost bitter. Really long finish and nice body but not very complex. Some people might really like this given how bold the flavor is and how long the finish is but for my palate, I find it a bit one-dimensional. Can see where others think it is outstanding.

Nose: Black stewed fruit and lots of oat. Baking spice. Taste: Licorice bomb. Oak and fruit. Nice body. Not quite as sweet as other vintages of Caymus we have had in the past.

Thin...seems a little past its prime. Stewed red fruit on the nose. Still primary on the palette, just lacking body for further age. Short, consistent finish. Drink up...

Nose: Lemongrass and a little bit of incense tea note. Taste: Lemony tang on the approach. Mid-palate and finish has a little bit of cooked white flower. Bubbles are soft, finish is good. Nice acid, nice body. One of the better Iron Horses.

Nose: still a little fruit but more like stewed fruit, almost tomato. Also stewed sweet fruit, and some secondary notes like leather. Some herbs as well. Nose: nice tartness. The leather makes it through onto the palate. Hint of unripe strawberries and stems. A little dusty.

Nose: Nice nose. Very primary. If I didn't know better, I would almost think this is a port or an Amarone. Very strong raisin notes. Taste: Still very tannic. Has a little bit of dried fruit notes, almost like a prune. There is also some leather.

Nose: Big nose, very vegetal. Asparagus, stewed cranberry and herbal funk. Stewed apple sauce. Almost Burgundian on the nose. Taste: Bitter. Like rhubarb. Okay on the finish. Lasts long but it is not powerful. Somewhat disappointing. The wine has structure but it just doesn't taste very good on its own (may be better with food). Somewhat monotonous.

Nose: Not bad. Floral. A little bit of funk also - flowers and yeast. Green, unripe fruit. Taste: Bread, yeasty note. Definitely a bitter note there also. It is good. Finish is long. If there is a flaw to it, it is a little monotonous. Good mouth feel.

Tropical fruit and burnt rubber on the nose. Taste - Grapefruit on the approach and honey on the mid-palate. Tea on the finish. Really good. It could use a little more acidity to balance out the sweetness. Finish on the short side. Crowd pleaser.

Nose: Very green with some funk. Cherry and a little bit of vegetation. Taste: Not a lot going on. Decent acidity. Very generic. Not really much body. Purchased from WTSO, for those who might be tracking the "bad lot" theory in the other notes.

Nose: A little bit of chocolate, figs and unfortunately sulfur. Is it bad? Taste: I am wondering if this is a corked bottle. I still taste the strong taste of raisin but there is also something a little off. Since it is a fortified wine, I am not sure.

Has matured quite a bit in 2 and a half years since my last tasting. Decanted. Taken an almost brown color. Nose: Bricks and ceramics, a bit of dried red fruit. Taste: We're firmly into the secondary notes. Approach and midpalate are dominated by leather. Some dry/sour fruit on the finish. Still very tannic, structure to last quite a bit more time. Might be better to wait on this where it is right now. Tasty, but somewhat "in between."

Woody notes. Jam and cedar. Ripe red fruit on the approach. Mid-palate and finish are strawberry and oak. Nice mouthfeel. Body is bigger than late time and mid-palate has rounded out a bit.

Smells like a blanc de blanc. More chardy. I get a rich, buttery, peanut oil smell with a little bit of lemon and barnyard.

Taste: Rancid oil note. Tart lemon. Old nuts. Funky. I'm not going to give it a grade in case this is a bad bottle but the taste is off-putting to me.

Taste: Tartness on the approach. strong cherry cola on the mid-palate through the finish. Really nice finish. The finnish is long - 20 seconds or so. Good body, nice weight.

Nose: Strong nose of flowers and stone/minerals. Taste: Dominant note to me is peach, there is a note as it transitions to the finish that tastes a bit like raw dough. Long finish, weighty mouth feel. Fairly one dimensional but a nice wine... not for acid fans though, this is a very mild expression of Riesling, almost bordering on flabby.
