Lightly creamy, a touch of lemon citrus, and a hint of minerality. So light it seems diluted

This was a rich, dark, almost brooding Brunello. Starting to show some age but was in a great spot now. Red cherry, plum, leather. Drink now to 2031.

Wonderful. Medium red color with some brown typical of Nebbiolo just starting to show its age. Well integrated tannins, and 15 year old Barolo should have some tannins. Dried red cherry, spice, and leather. Drink now to 2030.

A excellent Chenin Blanc. Floral and aromatic. Rich with a nice acidity to give it some backbone. A reminder that everyone should drink a quality Chenin Blanc like this more often.

Delicious. Medium bodied with layers of flavors. Plum, red cherry, mushroom, forest soil. Rich with flavor but not extracted 13.5% abv. Young for a Musar but great now and it will continue to improve with age, particularly worth holding if you like tertiary characteristics.

Not a lot going on, at least at this stage. Missing minerality or acidity that might make this more interesting.

Dark violet color with purple and black fruits dominating. Meaty, spicy and rich but not overly sweet or hot as some other vintages of Beaucastel I've tried (e.g. 2007). Includes 30% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Counoise plus unknown %s of other CdP varietals. Drinking well now but still has room to improve.

Decanted 1.5 hours. Medium dark red and purple black base color with some browning / bricking consistent with age. This wine is in its optimal second stage with tertiary characteristics very evident. Cassis, black cherry, touch of coffee, leather, plum and spice box. Well-integrated tannins and good acidity, and it lighter (in a good way) than typical Napa cabs. 14.1% abv. I would drink to 2027. It could go longer than that but I am not sure there would be a significant incremental improvement. (D's and K's wedding shower)

2 hour double decant. Rich, dark purple, red and black fruits. I thought this would be too young and fruit forward but it was well balanced, rich and layered. Not too jammy or cloying. No sign of early aging or browning. Drink now - 2032. (D's & K's wedding shower)

I like this producer, but this was a little too funky for me. Not well in integrated this young stage, or maybe I don’t like Aglianico. 65% Merlot 35% Aglianico.

This is excellent Barolo made in a lighter style, which I prefer. Red cherry fruit, touch of tar, moderate tannins. Young but approachable now but will get better with age.

This white blend from the Texas high plains is excellent. It has a fresh, natural, field blend style with good earthiness and acidity. Would buy again and I hope someone buys Southold or makes this wine in the future

This wi e is superb. It is elegant and absolutely in a prime drinking window for a Rioja. I prefer it over the 2004 gran reserva. Urbina is an outstanding producer with Rioja wines that are light yet full bodied, elegant and that age beautifully. And a good value to boot.

I thought this note from the wine maker accurately described this wine: “The nose … wet slate, black raspberry, pipe tobacco and a hint of anise. The palate [has] juicy acidity,… red and black fruit, exotic spices and slate minerality… best from 2020 to 2032. Alcohol: 13.8% Ph: 3.33 Production: 150 Cases”

Dark amber. Sweet fruit, peach, apricot, a touch of oxidation. Tasted blind with lots of guesses that this was a late harvest dessert wine or an old Sauterne. Good acidity to balance to balance the sweet fruit gives it a long finish. Quite good but I would drink now.

Medium light red with a touch of brick color. Juicy, ripe light red cherry fruit with grippy tannins and good acidity. Well balanced Brunello that tends to be more elegant than powerful, which I like. Good producer, but their prices have gone up a lot lately.

Medium light bodied, color, and weight. Lightly spicy, juicy red cherry fruit, earthy, balance, with good acidity. Burgundian style, but enough fruit to give this way as an excellent coastal New World Pinot noir.

My last bottle of this vintage and what a pleasant surprise. After a disappointing prior bottle a couple of years ago and some initial funk and strong tannins, it’s settled down after a couple hours, the dried red cherry fruit emerged . Medium dark ruby color. Chambord, dusty tannins, tobacco leaf. Drink now but the right bottle correctly stored could continue to impress

This Brunello continues to age nicely. Prior notes still apply. Medium garnet. Beautiful dried red fruit, orange peel, almost sappy, countered with ample but balanced tannins and earthy and leather tertiary notes. More Dusty and earthy with age. 14.5% abv.

This wine fooled me. I didn’t decant it in when I initially tasted it and I thought the fruit had faded and that the wine was good but past peak. Fortunately, I saved some wine and on day two the wine was really in a perfect place. Classic Brunello red cherry fruit, earthy, spice, and moderate tannins.
