8/21/16, 5:11 AM - SnP... ha ha. Thanks for reminding me to try another soon.
7/27/16, 6:33 AM - I'm glad you enjoyed the note. I believe I purchased my bottles from K&L some time around 2008.
7/1/16, 4:26 AM - "Fattoria del Cerro, with its 94 hectares of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano vineyards recorded in the register, is the largest private estate producing Vino Nobile". It is also a part of the financial giant Unipol Gruppo. And there are no declarations of yields or agricultural practices on their website. Still, under $10, it's an impressive feat to be sure.
6/28/16, 4:00 AM - "We are not Riesling fans"??? Buzzz it's one of the greats. ;-)
5/20/16, 8:09 PM - What did you eat with it? There just be something decent in HK ;).
5/17/16, 10:19 AM - Yeah, my wife doesn't get sherry either.
5/17/16, 10:09 AM - Buzzzz, it's a great wine. Lots of extract, structure and interest. It should pair/contrast well with the mellow richness of Cantonese cuisine. Let us know what you think.
4/23/16, 4:39 AM - I'm not sure I have ever disagreed with you on a tasting note before. I urge you to give it another try ... preferably with a wild boar or chicken liver and heart ragu over tagliatelle. If you find yourself in Firenze with nothing to do, skip the center of town and head over to Enoteca Bonatti, easily the best wine shop in town.
5/18/15, 8:59 PM - Thank you hankj, your kind words are appreciated. I love Cabernet Franc, but from time to time I am surprised how "dirt-ish" it can come across. I had the wine a second time on 1/8/2015 and that bottle showed considerably more fruit. I really the wines of Pallus, Chinon meets Ribera del Duero. Fascinating and delicious.
10/2/14, 4:40 AM - I couldn't quite put my finger on what made this wine special. Its the fresh cut hay and chalk dust. Thanks for the great note.
3/12/14, 3:40 AM - Thanks for the tip. After looking at the notes for the La Sibilla Piedirosso Campi Flegrei it appears that the I Cacciagalli Lucno Roccamonfina may be a representative example of piedirosso. I see many references to Beaujolais, Burgundy, etc.
2/20/14, 12:01 PM - According to http://uk.rhythmofnature.net/biodynamic-calendar-february-2014, 'twas a flower day.
12/10/12, 10:06 PM - I could sense quality in the wine, but I didn't like the pairing. If I remember correctly, it was too big for Kyoto kaiseki. I meant to write, that in my opinion, the wine would be at its peak in 3 to 5 and drink well for another 5 to 10. But, to each their own. I am curious to read your note in 2032. ;)
12/6/12, 2:29 PM - Upon rereading, this must be one of the most skitzophrenic notes I have written. I am not sure it even makes sense.
11/28/12, 9:46 PM - Jaded... from time to time, sure. Snobbish... ok, maybe. :). The note is just a snapshot of my impressions at the time. I remain open-minded. I'd love to try the wine again, especially with more bottle age.
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
