What a superb wine. Still crisp and fresh with lemon zest and a chalky note that reminds me of Keller’s Abtserde. This has many years to go, amazing for this warm vintage

Magic. After three years since my last bottle which was subdued, this bottle was absolutely fascinating. A wine that was too sweet five years ago had developed a sublime minerality and a pronounced acidity. Grapefruit and peach on the palate and a whiff of banana and exotic spices.

Deep gold color, when swirling it seems that the wine has a rather frozen or gooey quality, similar to a Sauternes, however, this is not due to residual sugar, as this is a dry wine with, I would guess, less than 4gr res sugar.

In the nose lime, brioche, hints of butter and a saline note, after some time a whiff of green banana and then more intense lime and a bit of bitter orange zest. Like a Heymann Löwenstein 2006 Uhlen R but with less sweetness and more acidity.

On the palate, absolutely marvelous, oily, buttery mouthfeel, brioche, lime and apricot with some chalky undertone. Unfortunately, this was my last bottle. Will try to buy more, as this wine should hold easily another 10+ years

Splendid young wine, intense color, a perfume that blows you away, very fruity with a hint of licorice, on the palate very opulent with a whiff of banana behind raspberry and blueberry and some sour cherry. Should wait a couple of years with the next bottles, but this wine in its initial fruit phase is very tempting.

More ripe than the 2002 which we drank on parallel. Very elegant wine now at its peak, lacks a little bit citric freshness to be stellar.

The wine was almost crimson colored. The legs were medium. There was only very light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, a little bit red currant, minor traces of blueberry and, surprisingly, orange, faint traces of plum, mushroom, pine, nutmeg and an overtone of pistachio. on the palate: prune, fig, blackberry, red currant and raspberry. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture.

this is a very wine, let us see how it evolves on day 2

Had two bottles which were both on the same level, prime drinking window for the next 3 to five years, maybe more. Color still very dark, on the nose more Pauillac than Cali, whiff of cedar, red and blue berries and a faint note of banana, which I like very much in great wines.

Phenomenal showing, best Lamarein ever, sublime bouquet, powerful yet restrained on the palate, tastes like an aged Pomerol on steroids, this is so much better than the super tuscans and the phoney amarone clones, 100 pts probably in 5 years,

Rather dark for a pinot, crimson red. Incredible nose, no comparison to more classical earlier vintages, leather, yes, leather, sweet berries, sandalwood, sur bois. On the palate, very powerful, strong but ripe tannins, sweet berries. 100 pts in the making, probably in ten years, need to buy more bottles of this very scarce vintage

This is not a rose, rather a red champagne. Deep red color. Odd nose at first, after 30 minutes opening up. Rose petals, raspberry and iodic, almost saline notes. On the palate, very strong minerality, faint leather, a little mint. Smoothing Little bit after 90 min, still freaky, drinking Nicely while decorating the Christmas tree. Next bottle in three years

Wonderful wine, NoW at Peak. Dark golden, almost oily velocity. Interesting nose, not the standard riesling Aromas but more Bordeaux Style. After 3 min in the Glass riesling Aroma develops.

On the palate a Great cobination of residual sugar, acidity and beginning Tertiary notes. Last bottle will wait another 5 years.

One Glass left for tomorrow.

Amazing fruit in the nose and on the palate. Now on a plateau, should remain strong for many years to come.

very pure cherry nose, dark for a pinot, on the palate pure magic with cherry, a hint of strawberry, accompanied slow cooked and smoked spare ribs very well. next to 2008 probably the best Isabelle, haven't tasted 10 so far which comes highly recommended

... Perfect wine to forget the Riesling Jihadists and their moronic reaction on vintage criticism.

This wine will surely develop nicely over the next 40+ years. Dark, opaque color. Intense nose of plums, mulberries, black cherry, jasmine and a whiff of licorice. 150 seconds finish. Spectacular on the palate, almost identical to bouquet but with a touch of cedar. Well structured, apparently high alcohol which you do not taste, far from being hot. Absolutely phantastic. got to buy much more

Dark ruby, almost black. blueberry and blackberry nose, with the earthy typical green streak. Still tanic on the palate but wonderful blackberry, spices and mineralic notes. Much better on day 2. The green streak had faded, the tannic tone molten away. Phantastic wine with at least 10 years of potential.

Opaque ruby color. Incense, cedar and blueberry nose. On the palate almost meaty, with strong laurel, cedar and blueberry and meat. Gorgeous wine developed nicely over 10 hours. Needs probably another 5-8 years to maturity. With 3 hours in the decanter already great, can ultimately become 98-100.

On the palate surprisingly strong not alcoholic, red berries and intense minerality. long finish with rasperries. We drank 5 bottles and all of them were superb. pomegranade colour starting to fade on the rim, astonishingly broad glycerin windows. Wild strawberry nose, with a litte bit of white pepper and a hint of cinnamon.
